Looking for input from Non-lifestylers

Postby e_martn » Mon Jul 11, 2011 9:34 am

Hi everyone,

My husband and I are heading to Desire for the first time this summer. This forum has been great to get a sense of what we can expect. Some posts have commented that only approximately 30% of the guests tend to be lifestylers (I think it'll be more when we are there seeing as there are two groups booked during the time). On the forum, however, the vast majority of posts seem to be from that 30% of guests. Are there any non-swingers out there with some anecdotal stories, advice, whatever to share on their experiences? Did you ever feel significantly outnumbered? Did it matter that you were not into swinging? Were you still able to fully participate in most of the theme nights, pool activities, etc?

We chose Desire because it appeared to be a more upscale place to go with a great deal of sexual energy and provide us with an amazing holiday in which we can enjoy each other's company. It seems to be a place where everyone is respected for their personal choices.

Looing to hear what non-lifestylers have to say!

Thanks,

Erika

We are non-LS and our week back in April was about 30% also. Desire is what you want it to be. If you want just c/o, hang out at the beach and pool. If you like to watch, hang out at the bar at the jacuzzi. If you like to be watched, enjoy the beds with your significant other, if you want to play with others, jump in the hot tub after 4pm. This is what is so unique about Desire, something for everyone but laid back and no pressure. Just don't get freaked out if you are approached. Those that are LS don't know what you are into until they ask.

We are non-LS and had a great time during our first visit this year and plan on going again soon. Never felt uncomfortable or outnumbered. During one conversation we were asked "are you here for the lifestyle or for each other?" once we replied we were here for each other, they understood. We still had a great conversation and spoke to them everyday as they were very nice people. Never had a problem during the entire week. Go, enjoy and make those of us who are not there jealous.

My wife and I are non LS. We always have a great time have met wonderful people. If the question comes up. We say we just come here to reconnect with each other. We steer clear of eyes wide shut. We do not participate. But we do watch. You will have a time of your life.

P.S. make a trip to se Claudia if you can :D

Non Lifestylers

We are not in the lifestyle, but caution that the statement all depends on your definition because it is different things to different people. We are 44 and 41 and went fof the first time last year in October. We are going back in December and then again in March/April 2012. We had a great time and expect we will each time we go. We have been C/O in Jamaica each of the past five years and tried Desire for the very reasons you identify - upscale with more sexual energy. We watch and don't mind being watched but just with each other. We never felt left out of anything. We participated in activities at the pool during the day, and spent time in the hot tub each afternoon and dressed up for every theme night. The party seems to never stop. I would agree with the approximation of 30%-40% LS. But it did not matter, LS or not, swinger or not, everyone was nice and fun to be with for the vacation. In contrast to hedo there was no abandonment just because we declined the occasional proposition. It was a great vacation and we cannot wait for the next.

See our trip report from a few weeks ago http://desireresorts.19.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=2029

Love this place but will try to book on non-group weeks in the future. Seems to be the difference in the occasional "Oh My!" and a bit too much (for us anyway). To each his/her own.

"Gizmo's got it". Non L-S people, but 4th trip in 2 weeks and can't wait. Never been an issue as to number of L-S v non L-S people and we always go last week of July during which there has been 1 or 2 L-S groups and totally sold out. This year is APG. All the L-S people we've been around are all great people and will never interfere with the romantic couples looking for adventure with each other.... On the other hand if you go during a L-S group time be prepared for some interesting times! Even at that you can avoid ALL the activities by careful scheduling of the jacuzzi trips etc. Go and enjoy each other....

We are headed down next week for our 5th trip. My wife and I are non LS. We obviously love the place and have never felt unconfortable. We try to schedule during non takeover weeks but have been there during takeovers and had a great time. We love to watch, and be watched.....Have had a few OMG moments in the jacuzzi.

Thanks everyone for the input!

This forum has been great to read and certainly has prepared us for any of the possible OMG moments but we are totally open to everyone doing whatever is comfortable for them so along as it's okay for us to do whatever is comfortable with us.

Cheers!
