Ocean View Rooms

Postby that guy » Thu Mar 12, 2009 5:30 pm

We are heading out for our first trip to Desire and have booked an Oceanview room. At Hedo, we knew what rooms to ask for but having never been to Desire....are a bit unsure.

Can a few of you veterans give us a recommendation as to which are the best Oceanview rooms. We like to be near things but not right on top of them....One time at Hedo, we had a room right next to the pool and while it was fun during the day, sometimes late at night it got really loud... :D

Any suggestions, would be appreciated....

Have a look at the resort room map
http://desireresorts.19.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=92

You can directly request from the resort(ie not through your travel agent) a specific room - they will usually try to accommodate you, however all rooms at Desire are ROH with no guarantee that you will get any particular room(other than your booking class - GV, OV, Jacuzzi or Passion Suite)

Make the request directly to the resort by email no sooner than two weeks before your arrival date

You'll have a better chance of getting what you ask for if you give the resort 3 or 4 options. We've always got one of the rooms that we requested.

It would seem that something in the 2001- 2005 block would be a prime location? Thoughts and thanks for all your help.

Yes - 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004

You don't want 2005 since it is a very small GardenView around the back of that building that actually faces away from the ocean

We have stayed in this block of rooms in the 2000 row.
Although close to the beach, they are plagued with terrible bug problems [due to the beach proximity].
We have awakened with numerous welts.
