pics of "real" people and what is really worn at t

Postby frank12271 » Thu Dec 29, 2011 2:10 pm

Hello,

Heading to Desire for our first trip in April. Want to know if there is any way to see pics of the outfits "real" people wear to the theme events and dinners. All I can find on the web is the pics that the resort posts, obviouly all models.

In a way, it's a good thing that I can't find pics online. It puts one of my worries at ease, that my wife and I will end up online for the whole world to see.

But, we would really like to see what people wear. We don't want to under or over do it. I'm sure you guys remember when you were noobies and wanted to do everything correctly.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well Frank, I'm not going to share pics, however I will give you a "rule of thumb" as to what most people wear for dinner and to the disco.

Okay, not sure of your age, but it really doesn't matter because I'm 46 and feel at times like I'm 20 something...it's all about how you carry yourself. For dinner I usually wear silk slacks (Tommy Bahama has nice ones) with a dress shirt (again Tommy Bahama is perfect for the resort). Regardless of the brand, dress nicely and don't worry about the temps, you'll be fine in the restaurants. My wife usually wears something very sexy without being too revealing or without class. A nice cocktail dress, a sexy low cut top with a skirt, etc...!

The disco is a place to dress up and have fun. I usually go with a nice pair of jeans with a button down shirt or an affliction top, something hip and/or in today's fashion. Sometimes I dress for the theme but the disco is all about the ladies and my wife usually dresses for half of the theme nights....naughty school girl being our favorite! You won't look out of place if you don't dress for the theme of the night but do make an effort as if you're going clubbing in your home town.

Of course, this is only my opinion, you'll have others that will disagree and show up in shorts, flip-flops and a rock concert t-shirt....to each their own.

Above all, loosen up and have a great time with your significant other!!!

I'll do a "ditto" for what Eddy said and add that if you are going to participate for the theme nights there is no such thing as over doing it - lol

Hey Frank,

If you review Trip Advisor Desire Cancun you can see traveller's photos to give you an idea of how one dresses.

During our first trip to Desire, I wore thigh high boots, a one piece teddy, took my riding crop and away we went for dinner!
Got a lot of looks from "head to toe, then back up again" and lots of grins :) No one complained. If you like...tell me. If you don't like
...don't look. We also saw a very attractive lady wearing a nice pair of assless chaps during that trip.
On the other hand, we've also seen a lady wearing what some would call a Moo Moo and a big Joan Collins floppy hat. To each their own!
I figure there are not many places on this earth where I can go to a disco wearing only lingerie. I mean this is Desire! As for the men, well
I would love to see a man dressed to the extreme. However, most men are pretty casual. Good call on the Tommy Bahama eddie, I actually
picked up a few things for hubby for Christmas. Go, dress up or down, whatever is fun for you!

Just my personal lady opinion. Others may not agree.

You will not find "real pix" of what people wear online.... Desire is that kind of private place 8) When you're there, however, you will see everything from just bodypaint or lingerie on the ladies at dinner (and certainly at the disco) to cocktail dresses and jeans. It all will show up... The guys are generally the Tommy Bahama slacks/shirts etc. Of course it all depends on the weather... :D

Frank:

To echo what the others have said, for the guys at dinner nice slacks/shirt and shoes, for the ladies a nice dress or shirt/skirt. Depends on the time of year, and the restaurant your going to be in for the evening. The buffet, casual. The other two, when we were there last May, was dress-up. Think of what you would wear going out on a "date" to a nice restaurant, that is what you should wear.. NO JACKET / TIE !!! for goodness sake your on vacation at a nudist resort :D .

My wife always wears a very nice elegant yet sexy dinner dress without being too revealing (imagination is a good thing - :o ), even though everyone just saw her 5 mins ago naked  ., with the exception of the first night we ever went there (been 3 times) she wore a skirt/shirt - still it was very nice, but she felt more comfortable wearing dresses the rest of our 1st time there and always on the other trips, not to say she does not pack skirts and shirts.

Myself - The first visit, first night I had a nice pair of docker short pants, a collared shirt, and sandals. Since that night, I have had slacks and nice shirts. DON'T forget to pack shoes !!

NOTE - The first night we were ever there we went to the buffet, basically wearing what we wore on the plane. We had arrived about 5pm and we very hungry.

REMEMBER - WE ALL WERE NEWBIES AT ONE POINT IN TIME !!!
So, basically as you can guess, there is no WRONG way. Last time we were there we noticed a guy wearing a tank top all the time, even at dinner, but we never saw him other than in the buffet either. His attire was perfectly fine.

For us, it is our get away from the kids, be adults, have a great time together get away. We enjoy dressing up for dinner and think of it as a "date", we have been married 25+ years. In the real world, we rarely get to go out on "dates", so we treat this as something special to us.

*** 3am PIZZA is the best eaten naked gazing at the stars !!

Hope this helps in some way,
Gordon

Thank for your help Gordon. Everything sounds great. As a BLT lover, I can't wait to try a late night sandwich. I hear they are awesome. Even better naked with my bride.

April can't get here fast enough.
