Completely new to the whole scene

My wife and I just booked our first trip to Desire this April. Other than the topless pool at Mandalay Bay in Vegas, we have never been in a "clothing optional" environment before. We have been together for over 25 years and we both agree that it is time to expand our horizons a bit. Other than full body couples massages from a gorgeous male/female team 2 years ago, no one has ever touched either one of us since we have been together.

We are both very excited about the trip but my wife is definitely nervous. We are the "soccer parents" from next door and she is horrified that she will run into someone she knows. We are not even telling our friends where we are going because their jaws would hit the floor. She is very fit and attractive and will not go un-noticed walking around naked but she thinks everyone will look like they just stepped out of the playboy mansion. For those of you who have already gone through this initiation, what advice can you give her so that she can settle in and have a good time. I know when she does, she is going to have the time of her life.

Honestly IF it does happen then the other party would be just as shocked - you all would have a great time and a private memory that you could all laugh about - what happens at Desire stays at Desire - lol

That's what the promo pictures make everyone think - however the truth is, just go to your local mall and watch couples walking around, now imagine them without clothes - that's right, Desire and most c/o places are that same sort of a mix

what advice can you give her so that she can settle in and have a good time..

First have her join the forums and post her own concerns - there are lots of ladies on the forum that would be happy to answer her, second you should both read through the trip reports - there are many from newbies that had similar initial concerns such as you have expressed.

Cokemann, thanks for the links. Very much on point for us. My wife has been reading some reviews and has looked at some pictures online. Bliss club pictures didn't help the cause much but she knows that is a young group and not the norm.

OlderII, I'm not sure we have ever gone on a vacation anywhere and not run into someone we know. It will probably happen here too so as you say, who cares? It's not like they will be appalled. They are there too.

Some years ago the wife wanted to go to a nudist club but was worried that she might someonw from the hosptial where she worked at. I told her not to worry as they would not walk into work and say "Hey I say you at the nude club yesterday" as they would have to say that the were there also. So wew went and had a great time and sure enough she meet a nures from a doctors office and nothing was ever said after that.
I would have to say that the chances of meeting someone from your hometowm at Desire is about the same as winning a contest. And we nave been to Desire five times having a great time each time. So go and have one of the best times of your life and let what happens at Desire stay at Desire. If you do met someone that you know you might be surprised how much all of you think alike about things.

bmw/ without going into detail, we have the same luck as you. we have run into couples known to us at Desire and Hedo. remember you can't hide they already have seen you and you have a few more days to your vacation. no one is going to come back home and say "guess who i saw at a swinger's resort"!

Very true. I've said to my wife that if we see someone we know, it will likely be someone we never would have suspected would be on a trip like this. They will certainly think the same thing of us so it will likely stay in the vault. I have many of my male friends who would love to go on a trip like this but would never think of pitching it to their wives. Little do they know that their wives would probably love to as well but will suppress the thought because they think that they are suppose to. All the while life is passing by. Just not willing to do that anymore. I told one of my close friends where we were going and he was more excited then I was. He wants a play by play when we get back. He will pitch for sure if our feedback is positive.

We were first timmers last year. The main reason people say in the first hour you cloths will be off is when you get there you will quickly realize no one gives a shit that your there or what you look like. Lack of clothing is the norm not the exception. Yes people will look but not any more or less than if you were in vegas or at the mall. My advise is to have your vacation and not to worry about it or anticipate. You'll understand after the first day.
