This is some good information that a friend of ours told us about their recent trip. They are Desire RM veterans who tried Pearl for the first time this year. I figured this may be helpful. I will do my very own trip report in a few weeks!

Bring iPod speakers- the rooms do not have that. Nor a clock, ugh!

Also bring some OFF we got eaten alive the last few days.

Food---the food is good, similar in quality to RM. breakfast buffet each morning at restaurant by the pool, lunch buffet or menu service same restaurant. dinner--there are three restaurants- one by the pool, the nice one near lobby, or sushi few nights a week only.
lobby bar is really small and not close to anything but front check in.
pizza at night sucks, not fresh. Not the same as RM. you can have room service but not 24 hr I don't think.

Pool--- really big, swim up bar on one side, volleyball, lots of pool loungers, no need to reserve, during day the beach has corn hole, horseshoes, etc. beach bar lady Marvilla is a sweetie. You will LOVE her!

Jacuzzi--- really big, multi levels for sitting, only way to really get served drinks is to be in the jacuzzi, has six beds around jacuzzi. Jacuzzi gets some action at night, just depends. Anything goes in the jacuzzi area.

Disco--- a little smaller than RM, same types of music, same almost each night. Has play room but really small, but has a swing. We didn't use, we thought it smelled LOL, usually a band plays in the lobby before disco, so-so. Cleared out fairly early, some went to jacuzzi, beds had some action at night but that also finished pretty early, most everyone in bed by 1230-1.

Beach--- sand is way nicer, reserved beds for penthouse guests otherwise there are more than enough beds for the whole resort- don't bother paying to reserve, has a pier that you can walk out to whenever you want, pier has benches to sit

Spa---- had hot mud massage, would not recommend. Had private sensual massage with Manuel- and lets just say OMG! Also had another 50 minutes of relaxing massage, that was just a good old fashioned massage! spa Has steam room, sauna, gym, hot tub, cold tub

Rooms--- our room was nice, had drawers for our things, along with built in couch and sitting area, huge sliding door that opened to the private patio, just steps from the pool, robes, slippers, fruit and champagne upon arrival for us. Separate shower and tub, vanity in room also with double closet doors, safe.

15$ cab one way to RM, about 20 ride. You can eat in the buffet at RM, but if you want to eat anywhere else you must have concierge at pearl call for you. Suki at RM had water damage so they eat outside each night for Suki. New dance floor at RM which is nice, lights up. Tuesday entertainment at RM was amazing,
15 minute walk south on beach from pearl to Puerto Morales which has authentic shops food etc.

Pharmacies at airport are closed, if buying meds must buy in town
