Waiting list

We have a trip booked Feb 12-17th. Due to some mix ups with making the arrangements we booked the trip a few days later than we had planned and of course the place filled up in those few days. We ended up having to book the last two days of the stay at pearl instead which we really don't want to do.

I am wondering if anyone has had experience with being on the waiting list. Did you end up getting a room? Any thoughts or suggestions on securing a room while being on the list (calling daily, bribing the reservation specialist, praying....)?

If anyone is planning on going during that stretch that has to cancel for some reason please let me know and i'll try to claim your spot!

Some of the travel agents have availability while others don't. For example SDC travel has found us rooms when Desire reservations itself said they were full. Not promoting SDC by any means, just hoping you can find a work around as we did once or twice when it was "full"

We were on the waiting list for a few extra days three years ago...never heard anything about it. I assume it would only happen if someone cancelled or left early, neither seem likely.

Been on a list and about 30 days before trip they called and said a room was avail.
