When I was there we did just that (Thanks to Coke), so we could visit RM for a day. You need a thick skin but it's mostly painless, I'm not sure but I don't see any reason why you couldn't may be say you where looking at it as a surprise for your partner, if it meets with all your expectations. I would also do the soft close when you've had enough you can say things like "I will need to do the numbers on this with my accountant" etc., so you can get out of the room without having to give then a hard No. I found it helped it you booked some activity about the middle of your appointment so you can get them the hurry up and finish your sell and then escape early (I was at Pearl so Scuba Diving). You should get a voucher booklet that includes a day visit to the sister resort among a number of other discounts. You will need to arrange your day visit with reception and they will be resistant to honoring it if you hadn't yet attend the sales meeting. The other thing we did while I don't expect it will work twice we arrange the meeting in the morning just before breakfast closed so on arrive we ask to do the meeting in one of the restaurants that was open for breakfast. The sale folks like to hold you in a private area where they can easily call-in the boss to give you a special deal so the restaurant made our guy fall apart a bit as he didn't have a script for the up sell when he didn't have the good guy bad guy tag team to work with. Hope that helps a little. but you still need to be nice as the sales sale are in the end trying to make a buck, not just for there masters but I guess a commission on the sale so there get paid.
