The new Desire RM General Manager is the former GM of Desire Los Cabos - I'm sure the look of the reno being like Los Cabos is just a coincidence

That was exactly my thought last week! I started to post pics, saw the tutorial and abandoned the mission.

tile work in the pool itself looks to be done. the tile work on the bar is still being worked on. could not see how the restaurant work looked from the hot tub. my gut feeling is they will be a done by this weekend and offering the 35% and free Pearl transfers until then.

We just got home yesterday, we were told the pool and restaurant renovation was two weeks behind because of rain.

This is the latest info that I have received:

The pool renovations will be opened in 3 phases:

Sept 23rd, the pool should be open to guests.

Sept 24th, the wet bar should be open.

Sept 29th, Tentazione should be open for serving lunch.

After much contemplation we have moved our October 6th--15th visit to November. Although the effort put forth by DRM is immense, we did not want chance NOT having Desire at it best I am sure the disruption will be worth the upgrade, we cannot waite to see it!!!

Yahoo! The shutters on the beach site have been removed and the water is being pumped in as we speak. The Mexicans worked their asses off. Last friday they were still working at 2.30 in the morning.

Maybe a little premature? Oh well, better safe than sorry. Even though they are behind schedule, I couldn't imagine it would be that far behind. When in November? We will be there from the 2-8.
