Puerto Morelos Restaurants

The Mrs. and I are headed to Pearl next week. We want to step out of the resort one evening for a nice dinner in Puerto Morelos. Can anyone recommend a restaurant? We are open on cuisine, ideally something elevated involving seafood would be great.

We had a great meal at El Merkadito. It was recommended to us by one of the waiters at Aphrodite. Easy to get to.... walk down the beach and before you get to the light house and center city area, you'll see a beachside, open air restaurant - there was a sign outside that said massage. The fish was fresh, the beer was cold. We really enjoyed it.

Sure we can second that We had dinner at El Merkadito last week and it was fantastic, the food is amazing at pearl always, but this was a great local restaurant serving good fresh local food, we had all kinds of appetisers, the sea bass and lobster, the lobster was crazy big!! cost around $50 USD per head well worth it, to be honest we ordered way too much food, so true cost per head likely $35 USD.

we did also try another restaurant El Dolphinos??? I think??? anyways just off of the square a lot higher priced and food no where near as good and very expensive for what we had around $70 USD per head, not a nice looking restaurant at all and the mosqitos were horrendous!!!

Hope you enjoy your time at pearl as much as we just have, just about to book again for end of January!!!

We usually drop in to the Pelican restaurant located at the southeast corner of the town square. Open air, fresh fish entrees, big steaks at reasonable prices. Live music at times.

We love Al Chimichurri! We go there every year when we visit DP - great steak, salads and empanadas.

We always go to El Merkidito and Chimichurri on every trip. Love the atmosphere of both places. The flank steak and pizzas are awesome at Chimi and I highly recommend either. We return April 11th and both will be on our list again.
