Men's wear for dinner??

Postby TX couple » Thu Jan 28, 2016 12:48 pm

Newbie question that i havent really found the answer to on the forum What do most of guys wear to dinner in the evening? Slacks, dress shirt, tie and dress shoes or something more casual but still nice such as lining slacks and shirt with flip-flops or close toed beach sandals.
Thanks

We will be there in just over a month and have read several posts of this subject and it seems to be a mix of responses to wearing nice linen dress slacks/shirt with some type of closed toed sandals to wearing nice dress shorts/shirt with same type of shoe. But it seems to be a nice pair of linen slacks/shirt with close toed sandals to be the more consensus.

We still watch these type of posts so we can keep our luggage to a minimum. :D

"a nice pair of linen slacks/shirt with close toed sandals"

Yep, I'd agree with that, that's what I wore and what most others did.

Keep in mind, if eating at Pearl or Jade you'll need to wear long pants, collared shirt and dress shoes (close toed sandals allowed). So common are linen, silk, khakis and even nice dress jeans. If going to Aphrodite, you can go resort casual which includes shorts and sandals. When in doubt, dress up as it's fitting for the sexy vibe of the resort and the nights events that follow.

Yep, you got it...or slacks and a "club" shirt work well. You'll see a variety, just be yourself and have a great time in paradise!

I am redundant to mention the need for slacks, collared shirt, shoes, etc. As we have observed "under-dressed" guys in the past, please respect Desire and others by not wearing jeans/t-shirts! When others are looking so good, don't ruin the larger experience by dressing like you might to mow your lawn at home. Thanks!

I usually bring 2-3 pairs of slacks, a couple pairs of nice dress shoes and 4-5 dressy shirts. As a guy I don't spend much of the time in dress clothes, only at dinner and sometimes evening entertainment/disco if I don't have something better for the theme. A dude wearing sandals to dinner would definitely be underdressed. They'll allow a guy into the restaurants with any long pants, but unless you're in the buffet I can't imagine anyone wearing jeans; even then I wouldn't. Don't forget a couple belts, and in my opinion ties are optional unless they're part of the theme night.

As others have said, it is always nice to see the men dressed up at dinner. Dr. R wore dress pants and a dress shirt at dinner. No tie. Closed dress shoes. Most of the ladies put a lot of thought and effort into their dinner attire and we appreciate when the men look sharp too.
Stop by, say Hi, and read about what toys Dr. R and I have been into lately!
