I need some help with drink ideas. My wife is super finnicky and I can never think of fruity, tropical, girly, Fu Fu, drinks.

Your help is greatly appreciated if you guys can suggest what is good.

We will be there from the 7th to the 12th.

Thanks to all in advance for your input.

I own a bar in northern Maine and recommend a "pinky": 1 oz Malibu, 1 oz Captain Morgan, then pineapple juice and cranberry juice - shake and serve over ice. Also, a Royal Flush: Crown Royal and Amoretto with coke and cranberry.

If your wife likes the iced drinks, she may like the "Desire" (banana and blue curacao essentially), the daiquiri's, pina colada's, and Miami Vice (combination strawberry daiquiri/pina colada mix). Without all the ice: they do make good Cosmos poolside as well, and have some really interesting martinis in the international restaurant.

If she's not finding one that she likes, I have had really good luck asking the bartenders for their specialties too. They can get really creative with a bit of guidance about likes/dislikes.

Hope this helps :)

Mojitos are the best and now available. Not too sweet, the mint is cooling and the splash of seltzer refreshing IMHO

My present favorite is a Mojito made with coconut rum. I am a sucker for any and all things coconut, this will be a little sweater than a standard mojito. Very refreshing in the hot mexican sun!

Desire knows many different frozen fruity drinks. Electric Lemonade is our choice. Last year we ordered a couple from the bar as soon as we got into the jacuzzi. The moment we turned around we had met 3 other couples all asking us what it was that we were drinking. Before you knew it, the bartender was making multilpe blenders of it and there were about 6 or 8 couples drinking them. Many of us decided we would meet up for dinner and went back to our rooms to change. As it turned out, nobody made it to dinner as at least one person from each couple had passed out back in the room. LOL The drink is that tasty and it sneaks up on you as it doesn't really taste much like alcohol. It is made best with equal parts of Vodka, Midori, and sweet and sour, then blended with ice. Sometimes a bit more of a splash of sweet and sour makes the drink just right.

The Blue Lagoon was also good. Can't remember what is in that. I think it is like the Desire, but with Pina Colada instead of the banana.

Mango Margaritas were refreshing this year.

When on the beach, Africa and CeCe will hook you up. Frozen Mojitos are also very good.

Emmersom69- We just made a pitche of them last night and enjoyed a nice evening in the backyard. Kids were present which is why I stated it was just a "nice" evening. Sans kids/clothes, it could have been almost Desire like. Almost. Yeah it's a bummer our trips can't overlap at least by a couple days, but that story and the times we shared will be with us a lifetime. I'm certain at somepoint we'll get the opportunity again to go in Sept., just not this Sept. We'll send you guys some pics of our trip for a little teaser to your trip. Any particular poses you care to see? LOL I'm sure your hubby will be already worked up from getting all the Ducks or was it Geese, knocked up. LOL
