we just came back from Couples Negril and that place sucks with a capital S. Nothing to do during the day and everyone go to their room at 10PM. Anyway best of luck

After Desire, we wouldn't really like to go back to Couples, but imho after regular adult resorts, Couples is pretty good (been only in San Sochi, no idea about Negril)

I concur. First trip in September never saw it more than half full - last week it was jam packed in the afternoon sessions, although someone told me they had seen it even more packed but I'm not sure how that would be possible. Like you said it was fun navigating through the bodies to the bar and back. At one point there was a very animated 15-20 person gauntlet at the ladder just to get in (in addition to the one that seems to form at the bar end) - saw several go through the arch of nakedness twice .

It's funny...I see threads like this a lot. My wife and I started at local lifestyle events before we ventured off to a vacation like Desire. We have local clubs and functions where we live. We did that a lot and felt comfortable in that environment before we drop thousands on a vacation. So I agree, don't start at Desire. Try something with less of a commitment level first. Like if it doesn't go well you can just drive home early.

That would work if you were both in agreement on testing out the Lifestyle, but from the OP I don't think wifey is ready for that if she's not ready for Desire. Desire can be as mild or wild as you want it. Stay away from the Jacuzzi area and SinRoom and it's not much different than St Maaren/Orient Beach -- just a bunch of naked people. I still think an adults only resort with a nude or clothing optional area would be the way to "ease" into it. Good Luck!

Agreed, and I would add that it may not feasible to attend local clubs and functions, depending on your personal situation. Desire adds an element of anonymity where you can get away to ease into it.

I guess it would depend on the club. We have clubs in the Philly area that are dance club/lifestyle clubs (Pleasure Garden Club or Saints and Sinners). We see people there all the time that are "just checking it out". Or better yet, a hotel takeover (Friction or IPG). This would give you a flavor of what it would be like at a resort, staying over night with likeminded people. And again, no one is doing anything they aren't comfortable with. Like Desire, some people just like to go for the sexy vibe.

Oh,yeah, I remember this friendly, drunk and naked arch . We were part of the arch "team", very fun

I would say that Temptations is a "beginner" step you could consider going to before you book Desire. If I'm not mistaken, Temptations is topless optional. For all practical purposes, Desire is nude. If you were willing to try Hedonism II in Jamaica, one half the resort is nude and the other half is prude (clothing optional).

Yes, Temptation Resort (Desire Lite) would be a good start, although it is more of a Spring Break atmosphere, but she could start out with the "topless" environment. It is however closed until the end of this year (and seldom are things completed on time in Mexico). We didn't care for Temptations nearly as well as Couples (but it is/was a lot less expensive).

Nice of you to say...and we'll second it. This forum has been super helpful getting ready for our first trip. (We actually decided to go to Pearl from other recommendations including wegottathing.com lifesyle podcast.) But this forum has us feeling very confident T minus 12 days. :-)

Personally, I think that's a damn good indication your lady would embrace the Desire experience! WBW (Watching & Being Watched) may be your limit on that first trip.......or first day ;-P

But I still wouldn't surprise her. At least, I would never have just surprised MY WIFE. I had to really convince her to go to the nude Island at Couples and actually it was other guests who did the convincing. I had to really convince her to go to Hedo III. YOU would know better about how YOUR WIFE might react. But whatever you do, "just do it". It will be the vacation of a lifetime!

The atmosphere is so sexy at Desire, that WBW may be your limit not on the first day, but on the first 5 min in Jacuzzi (that what happened to us anyway ) ....
Our limits got extended every day and actually we ended up with only 1 limit - no intercourse with other couples... ... The major concern was the possibility to obtain some STD

We became nudists in 2007 in St.Martin. its clothing optional at Club Orient. It took us literally seconds to get naked. We join AANR and stayed at several resorts across the country. No PDA at AANR, not even putting lotion on each other or any kind of kissing. We decided from another forum, Hedo was too in your face with PDS everywhere. From this forum we felt Desire was for us. Some guests don't get naked,most do,or topless. No pressure from anyone. However we like being nude there all the time. I would highly recommend Desire for you. We can't wait to go back.

Lots of discussion and some advice but did not see mentioned what worked for us.

She was not that excited about going to a resort with a high sexual vibe and concerned about it being a swing focused event. A couple of things made the difference to decide to go and try it:

1. Clothing optional: She did not need to bare/show anything she did not want to.
2. Couples only: She did not want to be in the middle of a bunch of single guys after her all the time.
3. She was informed that "no" means "no" if/when approached to do something she did not want to do
4. She enjoyed the theme nights and opportunity to dress sexy for them

Our experience during the first trip: Within minutes of hitting the pool (most were nude/topless) she had her top off. And we did meet some swingers and soon learned they are the nicest group of people around. Never felt pressured for anything. We avoided the play areas and Jacuzzi area at night as that was a bit too out there for us at that time. It was such a great week we went on to book more trips and then lifestyle cruises and have never looked back.

We have been to Desire a couple of times, 6 lifestyle cruises and have several more future dates planned for both and loving it.

She has to make the call on going without feeling pressured or it will be a lot of money for a very miserable trip. We have seen it happen a couple of times.
