Passion Suite patio question

We stayed at Pearl last year in a passion suite and enjoyed the ability to lay out and tan on occasion due to being on the top floor. Our question is whether or not we will be able to do that at our passion suite this year at DM? From the pictures, it appears as if the patio area is covered. Also, are the patio areas private or shared?

Passion Suite balconies at DRM have a thatched awning over them. I haven't been in one, so I can't be certain of private vs. shared, but I think they're shared. There are two Passion Suites on the top floor of the buildings that have them, and I'm pretty sure the balcony doesn't have a barrier. The patios are covered, and the balconies are open, shared by 4 Passion Suites on top and bottom floors, and 2 top floor Passion Suites in another building. You will have a reserved beach bed or "palapa" directly in from of the PS building, as well as a reserved pool bed. Hope that info is helpful!
