It's really going to happen!

After countless conversations and years of waiting we are going to head to Desire in Jan. We are a mid 40's couple that is ready to see what else there is out there in the great big world. I talked to T about heading to Playa for a week and thought it would be a great idea to do an all inclusive for a few, a hotel in playa for a few and finish the week in Cancun for a night. We are going to start at Desire on Jan 18th for 3 nights, 4 days. I figure if we love it, we can hopefully extend there. If we don't have a good time, we have 5 more days to get away and enjoy. I'm going to take my laptop and get hotels for the rest of the vacation once there.

We have never been to a nude resort before (have been to Orient) or a swingers club. There are several in FL here, but with kids, sports, and lack of time it's just hard to get away for a real late night. I brought up the idea of Desire and filled her in to what happens, let her check out the website, and read some reports together. She isn't completely pumped up about desire, maybe 75%, but is very open to trying it for me. I think the thought is changing her thinking every day. I throw little compliments her way often saying i can't wait to see you in mexico and such. She is agreeing more and more....Love it! She is very easy to make conversation with, fun, and laid back, basically just a great gal. I know that all of you, swingers or not, had your first visit to desire and I wanted to get an idea of your thoughts before going and when you first arrived, the first time and when you finished the trip.

I really want this to go smooth and hopefully open up a new erotic world for the two of us. I know I or we can't force anything, it just has to happen and flow. Let the chips fall where they may. There will be no swapping, but we have alot of interest in watching and being watched if the mood is right by the jacuzzi. Is the entire area up there nude or only in the jacuzzi?

T is not a prude by any means. we stop by strip clubs and enjoy the scenery, sun nude togehter by the pool when kids are in school, and have a wonderful sex life, but I want us to have the best 3 nights we can and hope she just relaxes, enjoys, and has fun. I'm not going to lie, we are nervous about this little venture. It's new and exciting. We just want to do it right and not have a negative experience on our first visit....Please give a couple of newbies some tips on how to take full advantage of the situation....

1. Get naked soon. If you wait till your last day you'll regret it.
2. Smile and say hello to everyone you see.
3. Spend quality time with your S.O.
4. Don't be afraid to push the limits.

tnj our 1st trip was last aug 2007 my wife thought it was adult only maybe topless what a supprise for her when everybody was naked 1st day tops off last day all nude .sence then weve been back 2 more times & going back 12/05/08 for 5 nights go have ball get naked & party you will meet the nices people you have ever met everybody is your frind you will see all shapes its all eve candy if you are a dieabetic be carefull eyecandy can be hard on you to.

My wife and I were newbies and within 20 minutes we were naked in the hot tub enjoying drinks, conversation and ..... . We are not swingers and never felt pressured to do anything we didn't want to do. We just had fun with whatever situation presented itself. Luckily, Desire is filled with great people who are in exactly the same situation and mindset. You will have an amazing time. We are trying to figure out how quickly we can get back for a follow-up visit.

You will have a great time! It sounds like you and your wife are in the same positions as we were a few years ago and we had a fantastic time! It's amazing that after the first day you don't even see naked people anymore. No one judging you...eveyone there to have whatever fun they deisre. It's just such a great atmosphere. Enjoy!

I don't mean to steal anybody's or your [the OP] thunder but I have to say that we will be there this Spring for the very first time ourselves and all of those same or similar comments, "never been to a nude resort before," "not lifestylers or prudes but just have a healthy curiosity," "opening up an erotic world if it happens but just want to enjoy one another in freedom" etc. applies to us and perhaps most of us newbies (although we were a little more damn-the-torpedoes and booked it less than a month after we heard DC existed).

I've been to the Riviera Maya three times before and we're also staying at a few other textile-only lodgings. We just can't wait to test the water (after reading other posts I also booked "C" in PM for us as a surprise -- so pardon the coded words)! We're planning on being positive, talking to people and being open to having a great time; and the worst that can happen is that we get some nice all-over tans and leave with a smile and some nice memories from a unique experience.

We were newbies last year when we visited for the first time over Thanksgiving weekend. We had a blast. It's great to be nude and chatting with others during the day and being able to dress sexy and dance during the evenings.
