Yeah, the seaweed was terrible. Eventually after a half hour you get numb to it when you're on the beach. There weren't many people on the beach as a result, so that's good, especially when you want to play. But it wasn't fun. Would I leave? No way. This place is the bomb. Just go to the pool or jacuzzi afterward and you don't notice anything.

When we were there in August (3-13) the beach was unusable, due to the volume of sargassum and the smell.

We also noticed that the beach itself is rapidly disappearing due to erosion. We count the trees on the beach, and every year there are less of them. My guess is that 2-4 more trees will have to be removed in the next 12 months or so. There is barely any room to walk up and down the beach in front of the resort and the playmakers had to abandon beach volleyball for pool volleyball.

Just got back from Pearl a couple days ago after spending a week there. There was essentially no seaweed, there was a couple guys out there raking but they had to work hard to get any kind of a pile.

I really think it is worse in the spring and summer.

Was looking to go out to Pearl in December but looks like we’re sticking with our January trip, so hopefully there will be no seaweed and no smell.

We were there about 2 weeks ago and there was zero seaweed and zero smell. We're heading back in 15 days and will update if different

One more thing...pretty sure they got a new seaweed boom. I don't think it had anything to do with it, but it's not that rickety piece of shit they had before

Wow! That's amazing news! I have to say, the odor was a real turn off and it was only us at the cabana on the beach. Hopefully, the cabanas will be full and Pearl will be jamming with people.

I've got pics on my phone from our June (this year) trip and 2 weeks ago. You'd never believe they were of the same beach...taken from the same 2nd floor room. The June pic has seaweed that is knee deep in most spots. Second week of November, you'd barely get a few strands stuck in your toes.

Beautiful! That’s great news!! Can’t wait to frolic naked in the Caribbean with my wife hand in hand. Can’t do this at any vanilla resort. We should all count our lucky stars that we have a place like this to call “home”.
