Never stayed in the mansion, but did stay twice in the Desire Suites, which is a similar concept and really liked it. Sometimes it was nice to escape back there and away from most other people. And that large infinity pool right outside your room with open ocean views is wonderful as the sun rises in the morning. But have to say that although the concept is a bit similar, the execution at RM is better. It’s almost like they decided the Desire Suites were popular, so let’s take it a step further, and then missed. The Mansion has no ocean views, and seems a bit too ‘enclosed and separate’ almost intimidating. The only downside of the Desire Suites was the upstairs bedroom, and the connecting stairs always seemed dangerous to my wife. She was proved right because one of the neighbors did indeed fall badly and ended with stitches in his head. So my wife didn’t want to go back, which was maybe just as well because they were super pricey and never seemed available anyway.

Two of the mansion suites have ocean views, although not as picturesque as many rooms at Pearl and certainly not as beautiful as the Desire Suites at RM. Yes, all the mansion rooms are THAT nice. BB and I have stayed in all but one suite. From OUR perspective, the mansion offers a nice place to get away when it gets too peopley or too loud. The mansion pool is far more predictable than the jacuzzi on temperature. There are three nice bars available in the mansion and dinners as well. Interestingly enough, we still go to the pool; we still go to the shows; we still go to the jacuzzi; we still go to the spa; we still go to some of the restaurants; we still meet many new people and still connect with old friends.

We can all agree that the room doesn’t make the vacation. But just because someone chooses to stay in the mansion doesn’t mean they’re disconnected or they don't participate in the Desire experience. Some nights we stay late at the jacuzzi and some nights we move our party to the mansion for the pool, the playroom, or both! We stay in the mansion as often as we can book a room in there. But when we’re ready for a Desire retreat, we’ll stay in beach chairs if that’s all they have!

Only stayed at the Mansion once but agree with BBTD. It's nice to have a place to get away from the noise if one chooses. We spent little time at the Mansion. We were at the jacuzzi, went to all the theme nights and danced all night. But it was nice to have some meals there and to use the pool, bar and playroom. A Desire vacation is what you make it, not any room or any person!
