Internet Coverage

Can you receive Internet coverage while sitting by the pool or laying on a beach bed? Would love to keep up and navigate on the iPad.

No problem getting WiFi reception on my iPad2 and iPhone on the beach while we were there over Christmas/NewYears. Also good reception in the room and the lobby bar. Don't know about the pool area since we are not pool people.

iPads were very common - a high percentage of couples had at least one, and some had one each.

Like Jandr, we had good WiFi at the pool, room,and beacbeds. No charge.

Hello desiday

For the most part there is now WiFi coverage from end to end of the resort. They upgraded the number of repeaters at the resort (2 per roof top) around April of 2011. As for speeds, I think we tested up to 2 Mbps on our last visit. Some days much better then others. It was good enough on most days though to use Skype to call back home.

Inside rooms at times can be an issue, but that depends one which room you are in.

If you do a search on "WiFi" all you need to know has been posted in the past.

I'm new to the Ipad, just got a iPad 2 and am still learning my way around it. Would you reccomend bringing our Iphone or IPad, or both? Do you get charged international or roaming fees on either? I don't necesarily need to make calls, but would like to be able to check email, etc. Being able to receive calls woudl be great (in case of emergency with kids back home) but we are scared of the high rates.

We don't have a data plan on our iPad, just use the free wifi where we can get it (or at home). thanks for any tips!

we get pretty solid internet on the beach beds. the connection has been a bit rocky at times but gets better with each visit. we also do free calling with Skype on the Android phone.
