Lifestyle bracelet?

Postby nawty2sum » Fri Nov 23, 2012 9:49 pm

We noticed in a recent trip report http://desiremexico.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=2732 that a guest says Desire is now offering a "lifestyle bracelet" upon check in at the resort. This is the first we've read of it. Has anyone else had experience with this? If so, we're surprised we haven't seen it mentioned anywhere else. (And apologies if we have somehow missed the thread.)

Let us know if this is correct, and what your experience was with it at the resort.

They offered this lifestyle bracelet/ribbon upon check-in when we were there in late October. We can't comment on what the experience was like thereafter as we ended up never wearing it.

If you are hardcore and only go there for that reason, wear the stupid bracelet and leave the rest of us alone to enjoy our vacation our own way.

We will be going in about 6 weeks and have not been at Desire for about 18 months. Is this true about bracelets indicating preferences? The mood and indivudual circumstances seem to have a lot to do with what happens and therefore "marking" couples seems like it may influence the vibe that we currently like in possibly a negative way. Any additional thoughts/discussion would be appreciated. Our knee jerk response is against the idea, but maybe it has merits? Thanks, S & M

Yes, the bracelet has me and my girlfriend debating what to do. We are going for the first time in March and want to do a little testing of the waters, but are afraid if we don't wear the bracelet, we will never have the opportunity to play with others. On the other hand, if we do wear the bracelet, will other's be disappointed that we are newbies.

One of the reasons we have always been against the idea. It has always seemed to me that declaring your limits/preferences in advance tends to make you feel like you have to stick to what you are "advertising". That just might take away that mystery and spontaneity that are so much a part of the Desire atmosphere that we enjoy.

These may work for some, but we don't like it. It takes away from the spontaneous vibe of the resort. There are already ways that "hard core" swingers "advertise" themselves. There would have to be way too many ribbons for all the categories of comfort levels of the people there. Ie full swap, soft swap, female play only, Voyeurs, exhibitionist, nudists, etc... Why make people choose?

We were there in September and noticed a few couples wearing the pale red bands. Personally, we think they were unnecessary, as folks of all types seemed to continue to intermingle. However, not many were wearing these bands.

Agree with mfay. Tend to dislike labels ... isn't that part of the joy of being nude?! We heard the resort offers them per requests made by "many guests". Maybe those of us who are not keen about this should let management know not all guests think this is a necessary addition to guest services.

When we were there one couple only had the pinkish color bracelet. I actually took it to mean that they definitely were looking for others in the lifestyle. We thought it was a good idea if that is what you were definitely looking for. To us it didn't mean that the rest weren't open to activity, just that the ones with the bracelet positively were.

This is an interesting point of view that my husband and I hadn't thought about. So hopefully others will feel that if you are NOT wearing a bracelet you are still open to playing.

However, we tend to agree with most on this thread saying that we like the spontaniety and unassuming flirting and play that takes place and it allows us to move forward if and when we choose. We will be there in just a few weeks and either way, we will be having a blast!!!!

We attended in early November and both accepted the bracelet when offered. Our feeling is that it didn't really make much difference one way or another.

Personally I didn't actually think about looking for it, and other than being a conversation starter in one instance, they did not effect our interaction with others.

On top of all that, they didn't last very long. Between the ocean, pool, and hot tub, they disintegrated rather quickly. They both were gone in a few days.

Just returned after fifteen great days. I saw one bracelet on our arrival and it belonged to someone in a takeover that was leaving the following day. Never saw another and I can tell you that we nor our many friends were asked at check in if we wanted such a bracelet.
Personally, I think it is a very silly idea, just me.

Yeah... I see how it could be something useful at a club or something, but it's kinda antithetical at Desire.
