Better to book at hotel or before you get there.

It's best to only book once you have arrived at the resort and even then don't book until you have settled in for a day or so - you may find that you do not really want to go "off campus" once you are there

There is no best site - lol

However if you click here this site lists almost all that are available
- you can book any of them from the resort when you get there

We've been looking on expedia which uses best day to book. There's also many other places but all seem to be about the same price. Going to compare site pricing to online when there on the 23rd using our kindle.

There is a shop on the south side of the square in Puerto Morelos that handles all the excursions in the area. We got tickets to Xel-Ha there and they even arranged for us to have a taxi for the entire day! We literally never had to worry about transportation. $80 and we had transportation all day!
We also book a snorkel cruise with this company.
When you walk into town from the beach you'll notice a large 'park' area in the middle of town. If you look around the park, shops line the streets surround the park. Look to the left and this 'dive shop' is about 3 stores in.
We tried bookng through the hotel but the guy who booked it, cancelled on us last minute and was at least $100 more.
