People bumped from Temptation to Desire Pearl

During the week we were at Pearl, there were quite a few people bumped from Temptations to Desire Pearl at no extra cost to them and they got the sweetest suites! Some of the Temptations folks were adamant wanting to get back to Temptations, others really enjoyed what Desire Pearl had to offer. What I think the resort should have done was bumped up us folks (who had actually paid for Desire Pearl) to the nicer suites and given the lower suites to the Temptations folks - who didn't have to pay any extra for the deluxe suites.

We walked to Desire RM from Pearl to check it out (there was a lifestyle takeover that week and was fully booked) and we were glad we were at Pearl. Oh, and the walk took us and hour and 20 minutes one way and we got to enjoy lunch by the pool and meet up with some of our favourite staff members. Gosh, though, it was nice to get back to Desire Pearl.

We started a posting today on the vanilla issue as we have friends their now who are very upset and trying to get moved to RM because of the lame,tame and prude crowd.
Anything we can do to let management know we are now aware of this practice and we the paying desire patrons who are paying double the price to stay at desire and enjoy the desire options vs temptations very much disapprove and to stop over booking temptations and sending them to desire.
Temptations patrons are completely different in their vacation expectations and not fair to them either.
We will call management on it if we hear the same complaints from temptations patrons being rebooked in desire pearl when we are their in June expecially being given the suites wow.
We love the beautiful beaxh the large pool and oversized hottub we will be naked daily,we'll make our own fun,the pool bar games,'sexy fun at night and naked jacuzzi fun by midnight.

Just to clear up any misconceptions - a full resort takeover by any group means that the group has to book every single room for the resort for the period that that takeover group is there and that all bookings for the complete resort takeover must go through the group - Desire is not allowed to sell any rooms for that takeover period.

When there is a complete resort takeover then the takeover group can change certain aspects of how Desire operates, however if is not a complete resort takeover then the normal Desire rules and operation are in force for all guests - ie clothing optional, PDA/PDS at the Jacuzzi and playroom are allowed.

They bump Temptation folk to Pearl when we're there, and put them in the more expensive rooms while we actually paid to be there, they will be well aware of our extreme displeasure.

obviously they still have issues with low / under occupancy.
I agree - it's quite shocking to see people paying less than half price put up in the best suites.
If the resort has low occupancy fully paid guest should be automatically upgraded to better / best rooms.
But to be honest all rooms in Pearl are lovely and not much time is spend inside anyway...
We thought Pearl was fabulous and we cannot wait to come back, but we were there at Lifestyle Lounge take over so it was very lively and definitely not prude!

Just a quick request as we have seen this issue raised over and over again within several other posts as it keeps coming back around and also being used as reasons that Pearl is more low keyed than RM.

We have read several reports and comments that Pearl is rockin and rolling and at 100% occupancy and everyone is having a blast even without a group at times and we have seen post saying the opposite.

We have seen several members posting split vacations between the two Desire properties loving what each offers as they are different and that makes more choices and better fun for everyone.

CokeMann on your next visit next month would you put this issue to rest and let MANAGEMENT know our thoughts and feelings especially on this issue if they listen to anyone it will be you.

When it comes to the Temptations Overbooking issue and sending them to Desire Resorts this is dirty business and a bait and switch, in this day and age with the technology they know exactly what they are doing it's just not right to the Temptations Patron Or to the Desire Patron.

The Temptations Patrons are planning their vacation just like us Desire Patrons then they arrive and are shifted miles away from their original destination to a couples only Desire resort where you can run naked and is lifestyle friendly.

I would be upset too and really nothing would make me happy either if this was not my cup of tea, even if you offered me a penthouse suite.

The resorts and the clientele are completely different talk about feeling like a fish out of water.

Us being Desire Patrons we love to be naked having fun all day & enjoy the lifestyle from time to time with chemistry and connection and are going to a resort with that type of clientele we are not going to change or down scale not to be rude after spending close to $5000 for a week of fun we only get twice a year.

It's just not right to either Clientele and they need to STOP THIS PRACTICE before it hurts all the resorts as a whole.

We're going to have fun either way and make the most of our vacation running naked and having fun meeting new friends but our loyalty as far as the Desire Resorts only goes as far as their loyalty to us and loading a Desire Resort with a bunch of pissed off & tame Temptations Patrons due to overbooking not good.

Then to hear they have reluctantly agreed to accept a Top End Price Control Penthouse Suite as compensation is not helping the Desire Resort Brand retain business & it's not helping the Temptations Resort Brand either.

Desire management is well aware of the concerns brought up related to bumping (the general managers for both Desire RM and Desire Pearl are members on the forums as is the PR director of DLC).

I know from being on other forums related to Temptation that many of their members have equal concerns about being the bumpees

Bumping, however, is not an issue that is specific to Original Resorts, bumping is a hotel/resort/airline industry wide practice (although none of us like it) that unfortunately is just a fact of life.

Cokemann is right, everyone is doing it...I combat it the only way a consumer can; e.g. I fly United ONLY when I have to and I won't be back to Desire Pearl...

Did many of the couples bumped from Temptation to Pearl "adjust" and participate in the clothing optional (more than just women without tops) aspect of Pearl? Did many take advantage of theme nights? Of the beds by the hot tub or the playroom? In other words, did they adjust to the different vibe of Pearl to any extent?
