Hot tub area for non-lifestylers

Postby sexythought » Thu Mar 28, 2013 1:37 am

My wife and I are talking about going to Desire for the first time, mostly for the sensual atmosphere we anticipate it has. We wonder, though, whether the hot tub area is uncomfortable for those who don't swap. I know "No means no" but I'm looking for honest opinions on whether non-lifestylers (particularly first timers) really feel comfortable up there. Do they feel somewhat out of place? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

It isn't like a Roman orgy or anything...seriously, there is some cross-couple play in the hot tub and surrounding beds but we have only sometimes been aware of who is "lifestyling" (is that a verb?) and who is with their partner. No one will bother you or anything. I'm not even sure we have ever been overtly asked. You will see a lot of PDA/PDS, so if you are uncomfortable with that it could be a problem for you. If you want to play only with your partner you should have an awesome time. :P

My wife and I went last January for the first time. Our plan was to have fun with each other but nothing with others
So we were able to go to the hot tub when there was nobody there (Around 7 pm one night and 1 pm one afternoon) and had a wonderful time. On that night, there was just another couple so we were able to hide from them 8) and had some fun :bj

So I would say it depends on what you two are looking for.

My wife and I are not in the lifestyle. We went in October and it was a slow time for the resort so take my review with a grain of salt, it may be wilder at other times.

First off, let me set expectations, when we were there, people did not just unwantedly attack you when you got in the hot tub. What we found is that it was similar to the pool in terms of people coming up and talking to you and introducing themselves. There is lots of drinking and lots of shots. The difference between the pool and the hot tub is there is lots of PDA going on around you. I happen to enjoy being a voyeur, my wife is not so keen on the idea. As the evening goes on in the hot tub and the drinks flow, we would see girls kissing girls. Lots of guys kissing girls. An occasional mild hand job or blow job. If you looked towards the beds you would see a couple of people having sex. (About 20ft away from the hot tub). I think there are about 6 beds, and when we were there, I don't think I ever saw more than 2 of the beds occupied.

Even though my wife said she did not like to watch other people having sex(she said it really bothered her) the atmosphere really turned her on, she did pull me out of the hot tub one night and take me to one of the more private beds and had some amazing sex in huge down pour of rain.

In the 5 nights we were there, we were pretty open and told people we were not in the lifestyle but we were okay with people that were, and talked to lots of people about it, we must have spent 8 hours total in the hot tub, I think my dick was grabbed one time by another girl and I just pulled her hand off and floated near my wife. My wife was touched one time and she just said no thanks.

We actually met a lot of people that were not in the lifestyle at the hot tub. I think if you are open minded, and have a little bit of voyeuristic curiosity it may be the most memorable part of the trip for you. I know it is in our top 2 things we talk about.

Sexythought,
You can relax and enjoy the hot tub area whenever you like... with no worries. Been there MANY times ~~ when busy, quiet, happy hour, midnight, sunset, summer, fall, spring, and winter, etc. and in no way are only those in the lifestyle dominating the area.

Thank you all for your replies. They are very helpful. I would like to note for the record we do not intend in any way shape or form to create an impression that we see this as an "us vs. them" thing. We realize that, lifestylers or not, everyone is there to have a great time. We very much look forward to meeting and having a fun with anyone and everyone who's nice, no matter their preferences, and we sincerely hope that is the overwhelmingly common perspective. Our only concern was that, since the hot tub area is known for lots of PDA/PDS, it might be a place where those who don't play might find it uncomfortable (sort of a fish out of water thing). It sounds like that isn't the case and that is comforting to hear. Thanks again.

This was the first time we ever visited any place like this. My wife was extremely nervous and this is not something we are used to. We were there for 5 nights, and when you are there, over time you get more comfortable with seeing things. Having never seen anything like that before, my wife was nervous and uncomfortable but after being exposed to everything in the hot tub the first night. After being there for 5 nights you get loosened up and less nervous. So on the first night it bothered her, by the end of the trip she was turned on.

We are not swingers, and don't plan on it. But KJC, I guess by your quote, if we are there, then we should expect for people to grab or touch you unwanted, if we don't like it then we should go to a Hilton. I guess you would be cool for a guy or a girl to grab your dick, if you don't like it then you should go to a Hilton.

For the people that are thinking about going, I would say, that we did not run into anyone like "kjc". Everyone was open and easy to get along with.

ouch!!! Maybe I read your post wrong,I just wonder why people would put themselves in certain situations being uncomfortable in the first place, any research on the place tells you right off, there are swingers there, sex at the hot tub etc etc it's a good thing you did not show up during a takeover,,we have seen it as if it were a roman orgy at times at the tub,,,so find out before you go if you are screamish at all...my bad if we offended the LKNcouple'''

Just because there are swingers at a resort and just because there will be visible sex in the hot tub area, does NOT mean that anyone should ever expect to be grabbed without permission or invitation. Don't worry, newbies, it is definitely not okay or expected that you will be groped that way and no, you don't need to go to the Hilton to avoid that. Now if you invite it and welcome it, then well, yeah! :D

our first night at Desire, we watched two couples have sex on the beds by the hot tub, otherwise there was probably 20 people in the hot tub and most of them were just chatting away. we went up there for a brief time each day we were there, the other times it was mostly games going on in the hot tub, although it was very full most of the time. Very relaxed atmosphere, didn't see anyone make any unwanted advancements toward anyone else

Hmm, well, standing in the hot tub, minding my own business, chatting with another couple and a fella walked by me and had his hand out, groping my breast as he walked by. I would say that was uninvited, unexpected and unwelcome. It took me by complete surprise and, by the time I got my wits about me, he was gone.

Having said that, I would say that that has really never happened to me in all of our 6 plus trips to any of the Desires. There will always be one or two jerks out there and we do our best to avoid them. That behaviour is certainly not the norm. We have found most people polite and respectful and you find out pretty quick who you want to chat with and who you don't. Most folks are friendly and you find out soon who is looking for what. It comes up fairly quickly in the course of first conversation.

Yes, you will see people having sex - and perhaps having sex with someone else's wife or husband. That's what brings a lot of people to this resort.

Generally speaking though, No means No and Desire is a wonderful place to enhance an already great relationship with each other.

In a case like this, what should you do? Complain to the hotel? Talk to the guy? Call Chuck Norris?

I think people have to understand not everybody is on the same boat and by doing what that guy did to you, they can turn somebody's vacation into something someone would want to forget. My wife would not go back to Desire if she experienced something like that.
