Newbie Room Question

Postby dandol » Mon Apr 15, 2013 8:20 pm

We are planning a trip for May and have a Standard room booked. This is our first time for a CO, adult themed resort. Which Standard room number should we request when completing the online "Express Check In?" Why?

Also, how is the cell phone coverage for T-mobile?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

you would need to contact your cell provider and see what your plan options will be and for a international coverage map. I can say for Verizon, we had very good cell service, average to above average data service. The resorts wifi is marginal outdoors and varies by room.

Check the map and see if you can request one of the ocean view rooms

I checked the map for a Standard ocean front room (2005, 2013, 2202, 2204, 2512) and they are all listed as Garden View. Do you have a view of the ocean from any of these rooms? From the balcony maybe?

My understanding is there isn't a room designation called 'Standard ocean front' rooms. Standard rooms are all 'Garden View'. I believe they were designated as Standard rooms because of their location and size. I did notice the rooms you mention are all located on the beach, so either they are small or have something blocking the view of the ocean or both. 2013 and 2512 are on the second floor with a balcony, the others on the first floor with a patio. The rooms adjacent to the ones you mention are all 'Deluxe Ocean View' rooms... We have stayed in 2415 which is on the second floor, behind the building with the ocean view rooms and we still have a view of the ocean.

I hope this helps.

First of all to the OP, don't worry about your room. You're going to Desire, you probably won't be in your room that much!

The room numbers listed are most likely on the back of those buildings. There are a few rooms on the back side of the building - not facing the ocean. The standard rooms were designated because they were the smaller rooms. If you look they are all queen beds not king.

If you want an ocean view room, book the ocean view room. Most weeks the resort sells out, so you are probably not going to get a better room than you actually book.

We are heading back in 20 days for our 14th trip! Can't wait.
