Emergency number didn't work

Got home and the people watching our kids said they tried to use the emergency number. From their point of view, the resort answered, confirmed we were there, and sent the call to voicemail. From our point of view, there was no voicemail. So the takeaway for us is that the emergency number process doesn't work. We will probably rely on cell phones in the future.

we just relied on our cellphone as well, 30 days of international calling service from our cell carrier was easier, only time I didn't have my phone on me or nearby was from dinner till bedtime, all other times it was in my pocket or the beach bag.
