Desire RM vs Desire Pearl

My husband and I are planning on a trip. We are mid 30's and trying to decide between Desire RM or Desire Pearl. Any suggestions?

Why not do both? Split your stay between the two so you can experience the differences.

We have done both and are preferences lie with Pearl.
Heading back there in just few days for our third stay...
It all depends what you expect from your holidays...
If you can afford longer stay it's a good idea to split and do both.

To us there is much more going on in DRM than in DP. The vibe is higher in DRM. It is obviously our personal experience or perception or it might be a coincidence.
Another percecption not based on any statistics is that the agerage age is lower at DRM.
Issues like rooms, food, drinks, staff, activities, beach, ... are secondary.

We just got back from our first stay at Pearl and have visited Temptation in the past. We did not visit Desire RM, but met three couples throughout the week on day passes from Desire RM.
Each of them said the same things. The were impressed with the food and facilities at Pearl. They also found the subtler sexy vibe at Pearl to be more there speed.
I think its what you want. Each resort has a different personality but the consensus from our contacts was that Pearl is a little more upscale. As far as the age difference, when we were at pearl, 30-40% appeared to be in there 30-40's and most were very attractive despite there age. We didn't find age or beauty as an issue at Pearl. For us, Pearl was a perfect adult resort that meets our needs over other similar resorts that we have visited including Temptation and Hedo II (again to be fair, we have not visited Desire RM).

We've been to Desire RM 7 times and Pearl once. Our own preference is RM, although we would also go back to Pearl without hesitation and intend to do so. In terms of the vibe, the age group, the mix of nudists vs. lifestyle, etc., that really varies from week to week at both resorts. If you read through the reviews, both on this site and trip advisor, you can see that the ages and the "vibe" can vary quite a bit. Our one time at Pearl was with Lifestyle Lounge, and overall it was a fairly lively group and we enjoyed the week. When we took a day trip to RM from Pearl that week RM was really quiet. We were at RM this past October and there was no group there (a first for us) and we had a great time. We took a day trip to Pearl and it was dead! We would not have been happy if we had booked the same week at Pearl.

In terms of facilities, Pearl certainly has a much larger and nicer pool and hottub, as well as larger and better rooms. The newly renovated Aphrodite restaurant at Pearl is really nice. On the other hand we would rather eat lunch outside, and wish that there was still an outside lunch option as at RM. We prefer Sahlo, the high-end restaurant at RM over its counterpart at Pearl. We prefer the beach at RM over Pearl's for several reasons, even though Pearl's is wider and more scenic. We love the tiki bar on the beach at RM. There are also more loungers and palapa beds available at RM. We like to sit in the sun part of the day, and with all the palm trees at Pearl that is not easy to do, particularly in the afternoon. And with Africa and CC, the beach service at RM can't be beat.

What really "tips the scales" for us is the nightlife at RM vs. Pearl. We strongly prefer the outdoor lobby area and bar at RM, both in the evening and for the late, late night pizzas and blt's! The nightclub at RM is larger and nicer, as is the playroom.
