Yes. We've never had a problem with our rings falling off. In fact when we're south, the heat tends to make our fingers swell so our rings stay on even better, despite the slight shrinking effect of the water.

Just so happens I have a story for this topic ....

When my wife and i took our kids to the El Cid resort in Puerto Morales last fall, we were eating at the lunch buffet one day and my 8 year old daughter noticed my wedding band was not on my finger. My wife and I looked at each other in horror, summizing that it must have slipped off somewhere in the MASSIVE multi-tiered pool/waterpark MAYBE. I was really upset about this as I had no idea it wasnt on my finger anymore.
My 2 sons said they would get out their snorkel gear and look in the pool, but this was beyond a needle in a haystack scenario. And that was IF it had come off in the pool. I fully expected to never see it again. Low and behold after 2 hours of snorkeling my 11 year old came to me and asked me if the one he found was mine  Lol. It had gotten wedged in a filtratation cap under a waterfall !! I still can't believe he found it.... :o

I was VERY lucky that he found it, but will never again where my REAL wedding band on vacation (Nor my watch either) . On our last trip to Desire, I wore a ring (That we bought at El Cid ironically) that would not be the end of the world if it went missing. My wife doesnt ever wear her rings on vacation. Just not worth the risk of losing. My recommendation is to replace it while you are away with a non sentimental substitute or to leave any/all quality jewelry at home.

We always wear our bands. The gems stay at home.

My husband brought my wedding ring on our engagement day that held at an outdoor wedding location in Chicago. My husband surprised me with decoration of venue and precious wedding ring.

When we were on our honeymoon, our cruise made a stop in St, Thomas on day 3. From there we did an excursion to St. John to go snorkeling. We got masks and snorkels on and were all set to follow the underwater trail when Mr. EN went to touch his wedding band with his thumb (it was a different feeling having it there) and realized there was NO RING. We spent the next two hours snorkeling in a big circle looking for it. We never did find it and got it replaced with an exact duplicate after arriving back home.

We've been to DRM 5 times now and we wear ours... gems and all.

1st trip - met a woman in the hot tub who's ring had fallen off and flew over the side of the hot tub (later found by staff on ladders in a tree). Went back to the room to prepare for dinner and told my husband her story while he showered... looked down at my ring and my center stone was gone. I laughed and couldn't believe my stone had fallen out (drinks made the situation seem funny) - so the next morning, we alerted pool staff who sent someone up with a snorkel, mask and weight belt. He searched the hot tub for 30 minutes and found the diamond on the hot tub's tiled floor. Popped it in the safe, had it remounted and wear it every trip.

Personal preference... my advise though is to keep all jewelry with you during the flight. My jewelry bag was stolen out of my suitcase between mexico and us during one trip. Nothing of consequence was stolen... but still frustrating.

For our tenth anniversary, I reset E's diamond in a more "in-style" setting.... at the time I had them set a Zircon into her old setting, which she wears on vacation.

We always wear our "travel" wedding rings. My wife has a nice looking CZ and silver "wedding ring" and I have a simple gold band. The good stuff stays at home in the safe. We do this anytime we travel outside the US.

I've never understood having china and crystal that just sits on display.
(Heirloom stuff that can't be replaced -- understood.)
That said, she wears her jewelry. It's insured.
I see no chance of losing it at Desire any more than losing it in any place we travel in the US.
In fact, I'd worry more about being mugged in a major US city.

Me too. I do take costume necklaces and bracelets because I find it too much hassle to be constantly going in and out of the room safe to pick a piece of jewellery, the costume stuff I can leave lying around the room, but my wedding, engagement and eternity ring that I wear all the time are the real deal. Although I do try not to think how much £££ is on that finger!
