Has anyone ever split their stay between RM and the Pearl?

Postby alsey1122 » Tue Oct 28, 2014 2:14 pm

We have decided to book a trip in April and have read through hours of posts trying to figure out which resort fits us the best and cant decide!! Has anyone ever done a couple nights at each resort during the same trip? Would you recommend against this?

As we come a long way, we do 14 nights at a time, and the split works well for us. We like to go to RM first, to party hard, then go to Pearl to be pampered and chillax to the max!

We split our time last March, 6 days at RM first, then 6 more days at Pearl. Energy levels were great at both resorts, definitely recommend it.........best of both worlds!

If you're value-conscious, you can spend the night in between someplace inexpensive. Leave the first resort in the evening, arrive to the second resort in the morning. You basically get the same service... I mean when I'm asleep I don't really care about much. For a $400-600 difference, it would definitely be worth it to us.

What we actually did last time, and are doing again this year, is go the week before Christmas, when the lowest rates are still in effect. The expensive week we travel someplace fun; this time we're going to Merida and Isla Mujeres. We then hit Desire again briefly before we go home.

If you would just be doing the one night in between you have to remember about check-in and check-out times. I wouldn't want to be out of my room by 11 pm and try to get ready for dinner etc without a room. Also, check-in the next day isn't until 3, sometimes the room is ready, sometimes not. Another note for the split, is that the transfer between the resorts is your responsibility. It was only $15, so not a real big deal.

We have split several times. For us we go to Pearl first to relax and de stress from "real life" and work up to the energy level for RM. The only thing we have found with Pearl, is due to the pool being much larger and not heated, it hasn't been warm enough for us to enjoy in November. In early May it was fine.
