Nudity on the beach

We are confused about nudity at the beach. Is the beach private and therefore total nudity is acceptable or is the beach public and therefore bathin suits for men and bottom pieces for women are required?

Hi, all beaches in Mexico are public (if I remember correctly) so people can walk by.. (but who cares)

You are allowed (and should) be naked (PDA/PDS is another story)

Everyone else is, so you'll fit in just fine

KenK has it right. Plenty of people can and will walk by. Heck, I think even boats out in the ocean try to get a little closer to the DP beach to take a look . You can be completely nude, but if you're not comfortable with random people just walking past, there's plenty of space around the pool.

The beach is also large enough to allow you to have a lounge or bed further back from the public area of the beach. People do not walk through the Desire beach - just at the water's edge. The Pearl beach is also well landscaped with trees so you don't feel you are "on display". Nice!

It is a public beach, however, you can go completely nude in front of the resort. Be aware, that there are plenty of people that stroll up and down the beach and some of their expressions can be quiet hilarious when they realize you are nude! Last year my wife and I were sunbathing nude on the beach when an elderly couple came walking by. The gentleman did a double take when he saw us and and as he was gawking, he tripped and fell down. It didn't take him long to get back on his feet as he and his wife hurried down the beach! We couldn't help but chuckle.

It is funny when the gawkers come by to look. They usually get embarassed pretty easy if you start shaking your stuff at them!

Additionally, Pearl security staff does a great job of keeping passers-by moving right along, and stop them quickly, if they try to venture from the water line towards the resort interior. We had no issues with being naked on the beach. The double takes were amusing.
