August Weather

We are going to add to our usual January trip to RM and going to Pearl for the first 12 days of August. Read mixed reports that the weather has been extremely hot and rainy to extremely hot and a bit of rain, but mostly sunny. Any day at Desire is a great day, but would like to get some feedback from those who have gone in August...

We were there near the end of last August. The weather was absolutely perfect. Warm and sunny, but far from oppressive. It didn't rain once while we were there. The pool water was also very warm, maybe a bit too much to be really refreshing as it was only moderately cooler than the hot tub. But I'd rather it that way than on the cool side, as it got a lot of use by all of us guests.

We're planning on going back in August of next year.

We've gone the past five or six years at the end of July into the beginning of August. It is HOT and humid, and we've had little to no rain.

We normally go to Cancun in Feb.-March and love the weather. In 2013 we went the first week of Aug. We won't do that again. Very very Hot and Humid. Don't get me wrong we had a great time but if I had a choice I wouldn't do that again.

We went in September last year and it was kind of rainy but we still had a great time.

I think the biggest concern - for me anyway - is you are getting into prime hurricane season. Even if the Yucatan isn't threatened directly, big storms can mess up air travel all up and down the East Coast and Gulf. We went in September because it was the only time we could go but I'm not sure I would do it again if I could avoid it.
