Rent a car at Airport

Anyone ever rent a car at the airport and drive to Desire instead of taxi? How was that experience?

Many times. The big names are not operated like the national names at home. Very hit or miss. The last two trips we used easyway rental which was recommended by someone we rented a condo from on a family trip. They were great, are offsite and meet you with your name on a card run you to their small office five minutes away. Prices are the best we have found and cars have been decent. However if you are not planning to do any touring once you arrive at Desire consider that it's going to cost you about $200 USD for the privileged of driving yourselves and having an unused car sitting in the Desire parking lot.

Also other things to consider, these will add about one hour to your arrival day day before getting on the road to Desire and about and additional 40 minutes before you return to the airport:
- wait time for the Easyway shuttle to pick you up at the airport
- transit time to the Easyway terminal
- wait time while you fill out the Easyway paperwork to go
- wait time while you are returning the car to Easyway
- transit time via shuttle from Easyway terminal to airport
