Yes, we bought a couple shots of DJ 1942 at the lobby bar one night and it was only 220 MX per shot which was very reasonable.

That list is not entirely accurate. Just back and they have johnny black included as well. Our friends only drink that and brought two bottles. Upon arrival they were happy to learn their two bottles would be returning with them.

True that and as others have noted Grey Goose is flowing at all the bars which makes us very happy!

Agree with eddieandjojo's first post. Purchase alcohol at the airport and request they fill the fridge with Coca Cola light. Took us 3 trips to learn this. We asked our driver to stop at a store on the drive in and we purchase additional Coca Cola light and wine--which we never opened and ended up leaving it behind. They want you to have a good time--so we just ask and they give us what we ask for. Great place-like many people on the forum, this will be our 4th trip back to a Desire property.

Good Lord!!! I just did the conversion and that is about $12.50USD per shot!!!! I don't know what that stuff is but it is either some very fine stuff or someone is making a huge profit!!!

That's REALLY cheap for a shot of 1942. It's at least double that ++ in NY. It's VERY 'fine stuff', about $120 a bottle. You can't miss the tall, brown, thin bottle at the bar. It's an aged tequila with a lot of rich flavor. It's not really a tequila for shots, more for sipping, like a fine scotch.

So I'm guessing this stuff would not be the first choice for use with body shots....

I love Deep Eddy vodka and found out that it is not available in Mexico and I am afraid it won't be available at duty free at DFW. I have heard of others bringing their own wine in their checked bags before with no problems. Does anyone know if the same would be true with liquor?? I really want to bring a few bottles of Deep Eddy in our checked bag so I can have it at the resort, but I don't want to run into any problems with Mexico customs.

As long as you stay within the Mexico customs limit of a maximum of 3 liters per person(over the age of 18yrs) it doesn't matter what you bring in :D

Wife LOVES Deep Eddy. We'll probably bring some grapefruit and iced tea.

It always cracks us up to see "Jim Beam" listed as bourbon - thanks for the reminder to pickup some Woodford at the airport! and what is with no all-inclusives ever stocking Irish whiskey - of all the people in the world, surely they'd know we Irish need our mother's milk....

FYI - Here is a link to the current Mexico Customs Form(in English) that everyone has to fill out when entering Mexico - if you download it and view/print it it does spell out what is allowed and how much of any item
