Children on the beach.

Postby Skulls » Sat Aug 13, 2016 10:58 am

We arrived at Desire RM the afternoon of the 11th and since we have been here we have seen 3 families walking down the beach. Yesterday was parents, grandma, and son that looked to be around 12. Mom and son had smirks from ear to ear as they passed my wife and I laying nude on the beach. Guess they liked what they saw. This morning while sitting on our passion suite patio having breakfast another family with their daughter approx 10 walked by. A few minute later comes the couple pushing a stroller. There has also been a lot of other foot traffic on the beach, lots of couples, and a group of college aged guys and girls. Our first trip was in May of this year and we did not experience any of this on that trip, I'm guessing because the resort next door hadn't been opened yet.

Just want to verify RM right? While we are not overly bothered, nudism is nudity not PDA, I haven't found or read same about Pearl. Can anyone weigh in?

We've found more family traffic during summer months when kids are out of school, your May trip school might still of been in session.

The resort that just recently opened is adults only, so there is a zero percent chance of it increasing children on the beach. The Azul to the north is a family resort, and 10-15 minutes down the beach to the south are more family resorts. We've seen families walk by since our first trip over 8 1/2 years ago, and that was with large signs warning people what they were about to walk through.

Yes we are at RM. We were talking with a staff member and I mention the families. He informed us that the new resort is a couples resort, which I had forgotten. He said the family resort is on the other side of Pearl. I guess being summer time makes a lot of since, thank you.

Same traffic at pearl depending on the time of the year. I personally don't like the situation of little children walking down the beach. We would cover ourselves every time we see minors coming, and again that happens more or less frequently depending on the vacation time.

The beaches in Mexico are Public just like most of the US. For about 10 years my wife and I went primarily to Hidden Beach which has no resorts nearby and access is severely limited due to geography. It is next door to El Dorado Seaside and the Resort has an 8 foot wall built out into the ocean to discourage the looky-loos. But the downside there is the Beach is terrible. Very rocky shallow with razor sharp coral. After two trips to Pearl which is closer to Puerto Morelos there is quite a bit of Beach traffic but I have never seen anyone stop to obviously gawk. Also the sand is sooo soft and inviting. Haven't been to RM so can't make a comparison there.

The beaches in Mexico are public so there is no stopping families from walking on the Desire beaches. We have found the staff at the Desire properties are very diligent in ensuring the non Desire beach walkers move along at a reasonable pace to get from one end of the beach to the other If the people want to walk our beach with their children, knowing full well they will see nude people, we figure that's their problem.

Many a time we have witnessed some nude Desire guests get up and start walking towards the vanilla family on the Desire beach and that seems to get them to hurry along as well. Sometimes, though, we have also witnessed the whole bunch of them, nude and prude, carry on a short conversation.

Not really sure why the Desire guests feel they should cover up, though. You aren't doing anything wrong.

I am not sure either. Probably there are people walking around who know exactly what they are doing and others don't. Amongst them some might be families with little children that are on their way to Puerto Morelos and did not intend / didn't know about what they would encounter on route. Just a possibility and just a little help for them, or maybe not. Who knows ...

Tipicaly staff are very diligent, however sometimes I see families walking all the way to the end of the pier regardless that it is well advised that it is private property of the hotel.

Nothing wrong with children seeing nudity esp if they are prepubesent and sex does not mean much.
What they should not be exposed to IMHO is PDS and internet porn.
It's an educational opportunity for parents also. Beats having grown adults calling it 'down there', 'slong' etc... to their health care providers.
