Northernlights- here are some words to live by "When you find peace within yourself, you become the kind of person who can live at peace with others." Life's too short buddy, no need for the negativity. :L

Good advice. Time to follow it yourself and stop the negative posts. You will not be taken hostage on any porn sets and in your face PDS at Desire, so simply no need to add it to your message. Not sure what the purpose of adding that to your question. Just ask the 'honest' question and not add in your opinion of what you don't like or could be expecting, if you haven't been there yet.

I'm gonna have to disagree with you northernlightscpl. The original post was simple enough and I think you read negativity into it when there was none given. IMHO, the OP was just trying to get additional nuances about what to expect. Everyone is on a different spot on the spectrum of what they are comfortable being in the middle of sexually and these guys were trying to ask a simple question to help them decide. They explained that they were specifically asking about the apparent contradictions between the resort policy of sex only in specified locations, and posts here which seemed to indicate they might encounter it other places. A reasonable question it seems to me. Their comment about "in our faces" and "held hostage" that seemed to trigger you, was light hearted and was accompanied by a smiley to try to be funny. To me, that marked it as more of a figure of speech than some sort of pre-judging, non-accepting ultimatum that they were laying down.

J&F, as others have posted. I think you will probably be fine. With the caveat that we've only been three times, the most hard-core thing I've seen at the pool is body shots on the bar - once or twice in 15 days total at the resort. Now granted, if you were sitting there and I convinced my wife to hop up on the bar to pour a drink between her legs, you might be offended because *technically* that's a bit beyond the rules. I think that's the caliber of public sex you might encounter outside of designated areas.

Hope that helps.

You took my question EXACTLY how it was intended and I appreciate the reply. Just to be clear, we are by no means prudes, bodyshots etc etc sounds like a fun time and if you happen to be there in March feel free to have her hop up on the bar, that's far from the "porn set" and sounds like a blast.

Greetings J&F!!!! I am going to try to approach this subject from a different perspective. We have been to Pearl 6 times. We have seen it rather "tame" and rather "rowdy". It all depends on the crowd. Many people don't believe that in can be that different, but it truly can. We respect your beliefs, and am not here to be critical. We just wouldn't want you to spend a lot of money, and if the "rowdy" component is there, you could easily find yourselves turning left or right, or walking in the opposite direction frequently to avoid a situation that you don't find appealing. I guess what we are leading up to is " if you are a diabetic, don't rent an apartment above a candy store"

LOL..... like the analogy.....going to remember that one. The crowd can change in a matter of a few days and it is what it is at any time, regardless what our own views are on PDS's happening. Most people will not judge others considering they know where they are going and if it happens, they accept it. Choice is an individual one for everyone. Go and accept the environment whatever it will be and those who vacation there and enjoy a great non judgemental stay or spare the potential risks that one might be offended at what they might see and head for a resort that they are comfortable with. Like the candy store analogy.

Just to expand a little. As bobsharon79 make sure you check to make sure you are not booking at the same time as a lifestyle take over group. I have heard the resort will ease the rules for PDS in open areas while these groups are there and that sex around the pool is common during these times. January is swinger month at Desire so you will probably want to avoid January.

Also note there are a lot of couples us included that intentionally leave the curtains open and occasionally the doors open to their rooms to allow anyone passing by to watch if they choose. I've also occasionally seen open sex on the patios/balcony's not often though.

We have been to RM 3 times and have newer seen open intercourse around the pool.

I have met many very nice nudist at Desire and none have thought the sexy vibe at the pool has been to over the top.

As I stated in the first post everyone there is respectful, nice and pleasant to vacation with from nudest to swinger.

All the replies (outside of 1) have definitely put us at ease. Part of our fears were due to ignorance maybe, not knowing the process of getting set up at the pool or beach and the fear of being "stuck" next to something we aren't comfortable with.
As far as leaving curtains or doors open, have at it! It's great that it's an option for couples that enjoy it and I respect the openness and care free spirit.

As you mentioned, if you 'respect the openness and care free spirit' of others and their activities whether a door or curtain open and that you will be OK with the option for couples that enjoy it, just like every post on this subject. It's about knowing what can occur through reading all other subject posts on this forum, respecting others who are different than you and enjoying the environment for what it is, not what we want it to be. You will never be 'stuck' next to something you are not comfortable with. There will be an option to move away from it if whatever offends you. If PDS open doors and curtains and body shots are not offensive to you as you mentioned, you will be totally fine where ever it happens. Enjoy

We have been home less than 5 days from DP, and were at RM in March - both trips are completely different and so were the crowds. In fact, this trip to DP we were there 9 days, it was like 2 1/2 trips in one, as the people would come and go - that said the first 3-5 days the crowd was definitely into PDS. I nicknamed the "Serenity Pool" the "naughty pool." We would see 3-4 couples having sex in the pool throughout the day, one morning I looked over and the couple on the bed next to us were apparently not aware or didn't care about the rules about no sex by the pool. We have no problem with this and enjoy the atmosphere - it's why we are there. A few days later it felt like a totally different resort - in fact most of the women left on their bikinis.

Here is what I hope you find helpful - your trip will be what you make it & it will likely be amazing. There will be sex in the open - in "allowed" locations and elsewhere - this will not define your trip. The people you meet, times you have - that's what it's about. Don't sweat it, just go, enjoy and if you have to - look away.

If you're talking about this first weekend of October and the pool, the Jacuzzi, and a Jacuzzi beds in the middle of the afternoon at Pearl we're off the hook you're absolutely correct

we were blown away far more active and busy crowd that first weekend then what we saw at ISM in January.

Nothing was rude obnoxious disgusting in your face it was very easy to ignore. it was also very easy to get distracted while you're in the middle of a conversation I am sure the couple from Canada and India know exactly what I mean Saturday afternoon at jacuzzi was an eyeful, earful at 5:00 pm

K and P wrote:We have spent quite a bit of time at Pearl so this is a question that I think I can answer.

First, a bit of perspective. Over the years we probably were at Hedo for 20 weeks and have done 10 weeks at Pearl plus stays at both RM as well as Cabo when it was open so what I think of as 'tame' may be somewhat different. There is a frisky atmosphere at Pearl that is encouraged through theme wear, foam parties, sexy darts, etc. It isn't a normal all inclusive resort- which is why we love it.

However... that wasn't your question. Let me put it this way. If you avoid the Jacuzzi late in the afternoon or during the night there is a good chance that you won't see any sexual activity at all. If you spend the day around the pool, go for breakfast, lunch, and dinner in the restaurants, hang out at the lobby bar and go into the disco for the shows you will probably notice the sexy vibe but there definitely won't be any 'in your face' sex. I can't say that it doesn't happen and can only say that I have never seen it. You could quite easily do an entire trip to Pearl without seeing anything explicit.

On the other hand if you are in certain places at certain times of the day you will. We have walked past the Jacuzzi area on the way to dinner and noticed about a dozen people stacked on top of each other. There are all kinds of things going on but whether you choose to participate or even look is up to you.

OK...I guess I can't disagree with that. But the Jacuzzi is probably the focal point of the resort. And you will see sex at/in/around the Jacuzzi. But participation, obviously, is up to you.
