Are we crazy?...

We're going to be first-timers during the 3rd week of March '11 but it looks like every possible travel group is booked during different times at either Desire or Hedo. We're a little concerned the atmosphere at the resort may not be as lively as we've been hoping.

As such, we're thinking about booking 2 nights in one of the 5* resorts in Cancun through Priceline. Betterbidding shows people winning bids of around $60/night (here's a link if you're curious http://www.betterbidding.com/index.php?showforum=170& ). We've thought about doing that for a couple of nights and going out in Cancun to brave the spring breakers and then transferring to Desire for 4 nights.

Are we looney?

Nah I would do the same thing...I've evaluated every single week at Desire for the next year looking for the best party week, assuming it's a week i can get off work and that its not high (expensive) season...

Have you considered Desire's sister resort in Cancun, Temptation Resort? Very fun and lively, not nude, just topless, but adults only...I've been many times and loved it...finally going to make it to Desire so I can have the best of both worlds!

We are booked at Desires and also thinking of a couples nights else where...most likely Temptations. We have found as long as it is not a complete "take over " by a group at Desires it is fine. Everyone is usually very friendly and you'll have a great time. If you go to Desires first and then with the Spring breakers...you'll be wishing you were back at Desires...believe us!

Well, as we said... we're to be first-timers.. and we're hoping for a lively atmosphere in the disco and beyond each night. We know how to have fun with each other but we love a good party group.

After scouring the internet it seems there are 3 travel groups at Hedo during our planned trip and nobody going to Desire (other than folks like us just going by ourselves)

We're simply wondering if the atmosphere will be somewhat tame and if so we might enjoy a couple of nights venturing into Cancun from one of the closer hotels/resorts.

Coupleat302. This will be our 4th. Trip to Desire in Oct. It has always been more than a lively atmosphere. We also have fun with each other. This is the best place to have a great place for a good party. We do not think you will really want to lea

What are the dates of your trip? Were going to hedo March 12 w/ a group and Desire on May 25. And you are right there seem to be several groups at Hedo in March, i know of at least 5. You checked Castaways for march Desire groups?

FF... Our travel dates are March 12-19, '11. And no.. Castaways shows no group at Desire during that time.

Let us guess... You're going to Hedo with the Phuckers. <sigh>... maybe we should just go to the island...

LOL Yes I am, we started that group trip with another couple...could only go on spring break because of his school schedule, otherwise we wouldnt be going anywhere in high season (we always travel from May to Dec)...the prices are not bad at all though surprisingly....but hey its going to be a really fun trip!

I can tell you the night life is quite good at desires.. dance you ass off and naked if the lady wants.. Definitely listen the the post above and if you do do PDC or cancun do it the first nights and they are wild on sat sun night (Locals) sometimes at different clubs. At desires you have so many bars and it is hard to get a drink at the quiet lobby bar without chatting with at least one group.

Temptation is a great resort. We have stayed several places in cancun and lots of places around the globe. The atmosphere at Temptation is unduplicated anywhere. (bar none) We have been there 8 times and plan to return as often as we can. If you enjoy meeting people and socializing in an adult environment it is hard to beat. We have made several friends that also like desire and have recomended it so we have a split trip planned for Sept. Our understanding is that Desire is more layed back and a bit slower pace than the crazy antics of Temptation. Although Temptation is a topless optional resort and not officially a lifestyle resort, there are lots sexually charged people just letting loose.
