Rene should apply for the next available meteorological/oceanographer position that becomes available if he can predict such an optimistic forcast for the future status of the beach.
If I were in Vegas, I'd be betting big time on the "over 2 weeks!"
While the beach volleyball area is relatively unscathed, the remaining 3/4's of the beachfront is nothing what it use to be.
My best estimate is that the ocean is 10-15 feet closer to the shoreline than in the past. (Waves are slapping against the posts of CC's bar)
Beach beds from the central and north end of the beach are now positioned on land directly in front of the corresponding buildings.
They are apparently demolishing what remains of CC's bar and rebuilding it on land near the last property to the north.
While walking the short beachfront is still doable, your head better be down to avoid stubbing your feet on exposed rock. When the ocean pulls back to more normal levels, it will take tons of sand to restore it to previous levels. This will be an enormous undertaking.
In terms of the new building, they have advertised it will be completed by December 1st and available for booking shortly thereafter. Not a chance!!!
My best forecast would be by the end of February at the very best.
There's some construction going on next to the women's washroom at the lobby bar. Apperently, they have plans to extend the lobby bar in that area.
Anyway....just my 2 cents worth for those inquiry minds.
