Drink containers

Postby Plexington » Tue Dec 13, 2016 2:22 pm

My wife is looking to spend some time on the beach and I was wondering about the cups the resort uses for ice tea and such.
Should we bring our Yeti cups for beach and pool side or are the resort vessels adaquit?
I wouldn't mind buying a resort cup but I couldn't use it at home.

In short, bring your Yeti's.....worth the effort to pack for the trip!

Around the hot tub/pool area and on the beach you get those small plastic cups like in a high school cafeteria... so yes, an insulated mug is a good idea. In the restaurants and at the lobby bar, they serve in actual glass glasses.

The containers by RTIC (use their site not amazon) are a fraction of the price of a Yeti and tested better. Also can buy tops that seal too for $3.

Thanks Mike.

I just got 4 RTIC's (2-30oz, 2-20oz) in the mail on Monday.
They were out to the lids but I did get straws.

They look every bit as nice as the Yeti.
The handles are kind different but I got them just in case.

We are just about packed our flight is out at 6am on Saturday.

Another great reason I read these forums. Never would have thought about this subject AND finding RTIC cups and tumblers.
Really surprised that Amazon is double the price than buying direct. WooHoo..

Believe it or not, the Ozark brand sold by that less than wonderful Walmart is just as good but even less expensive than RTIC. We own Yeti's for use on our boat and lake house. A friend of ours purchased several Ozarks and while I hate to say it, we got duped! Ours are still the original and cool!! :)

If it doesn't load just google.

The Ozark brand tumblers at Walmart are indeed most excellent! Especially for only $9.99 each!

The Tervis' get ruined with the suntan lotion and get cloudy. We have the walmart yeti knockoffs that work the same.

We brought our cups and glad we did.
Keeps the drinks cold in the hot tub and when you return to your room.

If you are purchasing get them in different colors do it. The bartenders know you and know what goes in mine and what goes in hers.

We bought the 20oz Ozarks from Sam's club for about $15. The 30oz were $20, but we just felt like that was too big a cup. We just used them first time this week and I could not believe how well they worked. I left ice in an empty cup with no lid overnight and there was still some ice the next morning. Bought the metal straws (with a cleaning brush) on ebay for about $3 including shipping. Have not used them yet, but will try out at Pearl.

If you put one of those rubber bracelets on the cup it identifies it and helps you keep a grip.....

Good drink containers were one of our Christmas presents. And bendy straws. Very helpful in the hot tub and foam party. Allows you to keep your drinks elevated and still be able to sip.

Yes, this is really the nonsense we think about before our trips...

We bought a couple of insulated, covered mugs off Amazon in different colors. As I've continuously slacked on making name necklaces (next trip, I swear!), I wrote our names in paint pen on the mugs for our trip last Dec. Turned out to be a great idea. The bartenders always remembered us & our drinks of choice, and other guests had no problem remembering our names. The paint pen held up beautifully against the pool, sunscreen, etc. and only needed a minor touch-up before our trip this weekend. :D
We're so not fun. Ever.
