I'm not sure. I called to request a ground floor room with a king bed a couple weeks ago and the young lady on the phone said they only have king beds now. So, not sure when that took place.

Which building has the best ocean view?
First timers in Feb.

Can't decide which would be better...pool side or closer to the beach?

Hey Darin and Mel, two of the master suites on the ground floor are 64 and 65. I believe 80 and 81 are also, but they are master with plunge pool. In our opinion the best rooms on the property as they are quiet and almost right on the beach.
One thing to be aware of is that all 4 of those rooms have ground floor patios, but have a short flight of steps going down to the room entry door (due to the slope of the land).

Yes, I believe we were in 64 or 65 in October. We loved the ground floor patio and having our own bed on the patio. The four steps down were not too bad. We'll just do our best to make sure Melissa doesn't break a foot this time. Thankfully she is finally off crutches today after 15 weeks and will be out of the boot a week before we head back.

Hey Guys -

First, (unless I am mistaken) pretty much every room has an ocean an pool view. Lower levels give you "more" of a pool view and upper levels let you look out over the trees on the beach for a better ocean view. Let me paint a picture. The pool is elongated so almost every room looks out onto the pool. The bigger question is, do you want to be on the wild side or the quite side of the pool. If standing in the lobby, looking out toward the ocean, buildings to our right will be on the wild side and buildings to the left will be on the quiet side. Seahorse is sort of the mid point. So if you want quiet, go with Seastar (the furthermost), Dolphin, or Shell. If you want wild, go with Crab (further most), Turtle or Fish. Turtle and Fish are the only buildings that don't look directly down on the pool - they look down on the hot tub - but I would still consider them on the wild side. Keep in mind that the resort is small. So even if you are in the furthermost building, you are about a 5 minute walk to the complete opposite side of the resort. For us, we chose a ground floor Master Suite in Dolphin and LOVED it. It was very quiet at night when we came staggering back in (make that early morning.... :D ).

A word about the room class. From the rooms we saw, they are all really nice. We went with the Master Suite and loved it. Consider that you have two bathrooms with two showers. Enough closet space for an army. A separate living room with a wet bar. So, when Mrs. Scuba is taking one of her marathon showers, I don't have to wait - I have my own. If she wants to take a nap, I simply go to the living area, close the door, and turn on the TV. You could spring some more money and get a Master Suite with a Plunge Pool. I couldn't cost justify the extra money. I'm sure those that get it love it. But here is the thing, we are in the water all day (ocean, pool, hot tub). In the evening we are in the hot tub. By the time we come rolling into the room, we are water logged. If we want some "alone time" we just go to the main hot tub and move to the furthermost corner - the hot tub is HUGE.

Well, that's my two cents (actually more like a buck and a quarter). Hope this was helpful.

Scuba,

Thank you!
We also opted for the Master Suite without Plunge Pool and are looking forward to being at the resort!
Seems like ground floor rooms are the best but the concensus seems to be there are no bad rooms.

Wow she really did mess her foot up! I am hoping for a ground floor our trip in March.

Yes she did. Finally had to have a pin and screws put in to hold it together back in December.

We just stayed in room 65, master suite, no plunge pool. It's on the quiet end of the pool, first floor. I loved the location, we asked for a pool bed just outside our door and ventured to the active end of the pool when we felt like a drink and mingling. Great spot for an afternoon nap before hitting hot tub happy hour. Room 64 is the same room type and location.

Is this a fairly recent development? We stayed in a Master Suite with plunge pool last June which had 2 beds and a handicapped shower stall (number 20 if the chart is correct)...

We are planning a trip in October. I have an artificial leg, and would appreciate a room that is on the first floor near the fun- (but insulated from the noise so we can sleep). room 20 vs 35? am I overthinking it?

If I book through this Forum, will they usually try their best to oblige special needs ( no wheel chair- just an artificial leg that doesn't work so well after a few margaritas).

I appreciate it you do book via the forum links - when you book there is an area in the booking form for any special requests let them know in this area that you require a ground floor accessible room - also do the Express Check in two weeks before your arrival date and also mention in the comments area you require a ground floor accessible room ;)

We stayed in Room #31- This room is a ground level room in the Seahorse building and has a walkout door to the quiet side of the pool. The room has very easy access from all areas of the resort and a patio with two chairs. There is also an additional patio area in front of our patio that we used for our afternoon dance parties !!!

Fun times....... :D

two4funinpa wrote:OK...here is the best advice in the world, and I don't mind sharing it because we are trying RM this year instead of Pearl. Room 35...1st floor, Walk out to the pool, perfect view of the pool and beach, very close to the hot tub, yet it is somehow insulated so it is so quiet. The rooms around 35 seem to get hot tub noise all the time, and 35 is almost silent when you close the sliding door. For us the hot tub is the focal point of the resort, so being close to it is fun. It's an 8 second walk from door to hot tub. And if your door is closed you don't even know it exists. It is by the party side of the pool, so keep that in mind, but we like that. We got it our first trip, loved it and requested it our second, and got it again.

I agree with two4fun. We had room 31 last time which is pretty much the same as 35 I think. Same building and set up. Walk out your patio slider and you are at the party end of the pool and everything is a 30 second walk away.

We've been to RM a few times, and are heading to Pearl for the first time this August. This Villa naming/numbering system seems unnecessarily complicated. I get that there's apparently no rhyme or reason to where a room type is located within a villa (except the penthouses). Is there any way to know which rooms have beds on the patio/balcony as opposed to chairs? The idea of a private bed on our patio seems awesome, but I don't see any way of knowing if that's a Master Suite perk or random chance. Also, can someone clarify what a "plunge pool" is? They don't seem visible on the aerial image except for the penthouses.
