What are your favorite drinks at DRM?

My husband and I are not veteran drinkers, but we love to take advantage of the "all-inclusive" and order drinks we normally wouldn't buy locally. On previous visits (to Temptation and DRM) we've enjoyed mojitos, Miami Vices (too sweet), Chunky Monkeys (love the banana), but I can never remember what the better drinks are. Something I really enjoyed at Temptation was Fresca (grapefruit soda) with vodka and a splash of grapefruit juice.

Please let me know some of your favorites, whether they be blended sugary drinks or simple shots.

I used to be a confirmed lover of Margaritas, however for the last dozen or so trips my go to daytime drink is now the Paloma. FYI - it's a far more popular cocktail in Mexico than the Margarita.

Here's how most of the bar keeps at Desire RM make it.

• juice of ½ lime
• grapefruit juice
• silver tequila
• a few drops of agave syrup for taste

Shake with ice and strain/pour into salt rimmed glass
top up with Fresca

We had never heard of it before we went to Desire. It's like honey and angel food cake screwed.

Have a local buddy who owns a liquor store, and he ordered a case of it on my recommendation. He sold out before I could even get one bottle.

Pool side ...... for both........water in the morning, beer starting in mid afternoon in pool mingle time. White Russians in the Jacuzzi (only a few, and a bit more). Wine at dinner. Beer at lobby bar and entertainment. Water in disco and night Jacuzzi for her and water and beer for me..

Water with Powerade drops till about noon, Maibu and diet for her, Grey Goose and water (w/Powerade drops) for me throughout the day. Then usually a couple 1921 tequila creams or 43 after dinner and it's back to our main drink for the disco and hot tub later. We do change it up to champagne for dinner a couple nights.

Liquor 43 for sure. Just on the rocks nothing added. Perfect drink for sipping and hanging out in the pool on a hot puerto morelos day. Good for body shot also since it wont sting like hard liquors do as long as you dont mind getting a little sticky.

Its a frozen drink made with vodka (or white rum), a pina colada type mix, a whole banana and blue curacao, which gives it a turquoise color. The veteran bartenders know how to make it although some of the newer ones don't. I make them at home in the summer when we're at our beach house and everyone seems to really like them. Hoping to have one at Desire RM in two days!

Sound a lot like a 'Nasty Monkey', using rum, pina colada mix, banana and a splash almond liquor blended in ice (like a slush). So good, smooth and real 'nasty'. Gotta go easy on these....agree..... it seems like the older bartenders know exactly how to make them 'right'.

Thanks Coke! We have been trying to remember the name of that drink for like 3 months now! That was our go to last trip as well

One of the best drinks we have found for before dinner or during dinner to "wake you up" is a Carajillo (expresso and licour 43)...its the perfect awake yet mellow drink!

This sounded great so we had to find some. Luckily our stores stock it. They have a great website with lots of easy recipe suggestions. We mixed some 43 with milk over ice and it was delicious.

We've never tried 43 at Desire but there were so many posts, I had to run out and get some. Store had plenty and in 3 different sized bottles! Thanks for the suggestion.
