What are your favorite drinks at DRM?

43 Liquor.

We had never heard of it before we went to Desire. It's like honey and angel food cake screwed.

Have a local buddy who owns a liquor store, and he ordered a case of it on my recommendation. He sold out before I could even get one bottle.

This sounded great so we had to find some. Luckily our stores stock it. They have a great website with lots of easy recipe suggestions. We mixed some 43 with milk over ice and it was delicious.

During our previous trips to RM, more "43" was consumed off of body parts, than sipped from a glass At home, consumption is more conventional...

We learned of Licor 43 at Desire, via body shots and mini beers - now we keep it in stock at home.

Here's the deal for mini beer:

1-1/2 ounce Licor 43 – chilled

Splash of Heavy Cream

Fill shot glass 2/3 full of chilled Licor 43. Top with layer of heavy cream. Layer heavy cream on top of Licor 43 by slowly pouring it over the back of spoon.

We've never tried 43 at Desire but there were so many posts, I had to run out and get some. Store had plenty and in 3 different sized bottles! Thanks for the suggestion.

I got the "recipe" from their website http://www.licor43.com it was 1 part Liquor 43 and 3 parts milk over ice. Great smooth flavor.

Hello All,

Well, Licqor 43 is one of our fav drinks, found it back in 2005 while at the resort. We enjoyed it so much, we made it part of our former group branding.

As for mixing, I mix it with Baileys, even parts. I call the drink, a Dirty Spaniard. If you mix the two slowly, you will get two layers.

As well, there is a new offering from the people of 43. Not sure if they sell it over here yet, but it is a cream as pictured below.

Personal,y I think the resort should get the shot dispenser, for body shorts of course.

I used to be a confirmed lover of Margaritas, however for the last dozen or so trips my go to daytime drink is now the Paloma. FYI - it's a far more popular cocktail in Mexico than the Margarita.

Here's how most of the bar keeps at Desire RM make it.

• juice of ½ lime
• grapefruit juice
• silver tequila
• a few drops of agave syrup for taste

Shake with ice and strain/pour into salt rimmed glass
top up with Fresca

Will try this. Our biggest issue is drinks with too much sugar. I can't drink beer (gluten allergy) but not really into wine during the day either. Margaritas & rum & comes are tasty but always looking for something that can have throughout day

During the day I like to have an Iceberg, beer with frozen margarita in it. It breaks the beer monotony and is not very sweet, also keeps your beer cold.

Baby Guinness shots are great too.

We just returned from 7 nights at RM and our favorite new drinks while there were Ranch Water and Havana Lights. Ranch water is vodka, Topo Choco mineral water and a little lime. Best with Absolut vodka. Havana Lights was melon liquer, vodka and I think a splash of oj. Very refreshing and light. Of course the pool bar makes a great Captain Morgan and coke, always a heavy favorite.
