Foam party

We are planning our first visit and I've read a lot on this board so thanks to everyone for the great information. I seems like the foam party is a big hit and a fan favorite. My dilemma is that we can fly much cheaper Saturday to Saturday but would miss the foam party. We're leaning toward paying more to arrive in time but wondered what others think a newbie couple should do. Love to also hear why people rave about this event. Thanks. Steve & Maggy

I'm going to go against the grain and say we thought it was just ok. We have been to Pearl 2x and the first trip the foam party was cancelled due to rain. Our second trip we were so excited about it, especially having missed the first year, and it was just ok for us. Not a wild crowd maybe? I mean don't get me wrong, it was fun, but it certainly didn't make or break our trips.

We have always attended the foam party at DRM so I can't speak for Pearl but we plan our trip around the foam party. We typically arrive early on Friday, grab a few drinks, and then head to the foam party. It is a good ice breaker for us. This year we are arriving on Thursday in hopes of meeting people prior to the foam party. To me most days at the pool have been pretty calm lately so the foam party, to us, is the funnest day activity of the week.

We love the foam party. Just a silly, sexy, fun thing to do.

Is it worth the extra $? Really depends on how much extra. If it were $100 or less, we would probably move flights to do it. If it were hundreds of dollars more, we would probably skip it.

The last couple years we have been going Saturday to Sunday to get 2 foam parties in. This year, flights didn't work out that way so it'll only be 1.

For what it's worth, Mrs Roberts and I are "Quiet End of the Pool" kind of people, and we never participated in any of the events at the Fun End. Except for the Foam Party. We managed to enjoy ourselves very much there (the foam really allows for a lot of privacy ) and had a great time overall with the fun things going on in the foam. It isn't a "must" event for us, and we certainly wouldn't change flights around for it, but it was definitely fun to participate in.

To each their own - others may enjoy different opportunities that the foam offers in terms of bumping into strangers or meeting new friends. In the end, it's dancing, drinking, and pretty much anything else you want to do in a pool full of foam. Let your imagination guide you on whether that makes it a "must" event for you

We were first timers to Pearl in March and had heard all about the foam parties. Our crowd was mixed generally speaking but I would say overall the folks in attendance had a great time. Certainly there is that "Privacy" thing but we just saw people having fun mingling and hitting around the beach balls a whole bunch. I think my wife actually had more fun than I did and by fun I mean some extracurricular touching and for sure hugging. Not a big deal at all. Life is short spend the extra if it isn't all that much more.
